Decentralization means the majority always wins. The majority will never be the 1%. And that’s what makes it so exciting. If we do this work right, communities might have real control of their lives (the first time since the imperialist era!) aka control the means of production.

@fozziethebeat The cost of residency with CommonLands is not 50Eth. CommonLands will be funded by the CommonDAO, a 99 seat DAO LLC, in which 30 seats are open for investors to purchase at 50 Eth. Residents will be making monthly payments based off a percentage of their income.

2/ How many low income residents of Philadelphia have access to 50 ETH? The entry fee of 50 ETH seems pretty high and limits the first 30 holders to people like me (pretty well of individuals). This could just devolve into Pacaso.

@fozziethebeat 4/ Blockchain allows transactions to be simplified between buyers and sellers and does not require middlemen to handle the transaction, who would often take a large fee (ie. brokers, agents, landlords, etc).

@fozziethebeat 3/ Further, if residents want to move out before they have 100% equity they sell that equity back to us and get money back. In addition, web3 as a whole will lower most costs associated with the real estate industry as it becomes a norm in the coming years.
