From the beginning, we’ve said this has been about one thing: “Our kids are worth it.”
Our proposed rideshare tax is about protecting the progress Philadelphia students, school-based educators, and staff have worked so hard to make. It would generate $48 million in new, recurring revenue to support our schools and invest in opportunity for young people today and into the future.
Coupled with an adjustment to another levy on cell phone towers, they will generate $50.4 million in annual recurring revenues for schools and mean zero school-based job cuts.
Because when funding falls short, students and the people who support them every day feel it first. And Philadelphia cannot afford to move backward.
