Is it just me or is social media spiralling out of control. If so, i’m jumping in feet first to prevent concussion protocol.

@MapleLeafs The 60 year drought begins again. Just when you thought the Leafs were good there not. Nothing but word salad from the CEO, “it’s not my fault, I’m going to make the leafs great again.” Good luck replacing Marner and Matthews, we all know skilled players grow on trees.

@MapleLeafs Finally earning respect until the Leafs fire their GM and Coach. Bring in a failed GM that dismantles a good team. You haven’t won in 60 years because you’re too impatient, too critical and too emotional. Whose fault is it? Owners, executives, media and the fans. Not the players.

@albertaseparate Imagine Alberta as its own country with its own currency. What would the value be; 1 to 2 times the U.S. dollar, 2 to 3 times the Canadian dollar? How many jobs would be created? A country so wealthy it could provide free daycare, first class healthcare and no taxes for seniors.

@TheRealKeean It may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow but it’s started. Albertans are subsidizing a country and getting nothing in return. It’s only a matter of time. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. What would its value be if Alberta had its own currency? 🤔

@MarcNixon24 Alberta goes first. Imagine Alberta as its own country, having its own currency, managing its own affairs and collecting its own taxes. A country so wealthy it would be foolish to join the U.S. Free Daycare, free University, no taxes for seniors over 75. Too good to be true… or?

@PierrePoilievre Left the Conservatives for more pay with Carney as a Special Advisor on Economic and Security Partnerships. The only way the Liberals can get a majority is by first, signing an MOU with NDP and then by offering high paying jobs to Conservatives to cross the floor. Wake up Canada!

Mark Carney is trying to seize a costly Liberal majority government that Canadians voted against in the last election through dirty backroom deals. Matt Jeneroux has betrayed the people of Edmonton Riverbend who voted for affordable food and homes, safe streets, and a strong resource sector. Conservatives will continue our fight for a Canada that's affordable, safe, and self-reliant.

JENEROUX: "Quite honestly it was the speech in Davos ... it felt disingenuous and quite simply wrong to be sitting on the sidelines anymore. So I reached out to the PM's office and will be joining his caucus and I couldn't be more proud to be here."

@acoyne If there is no legal or moral basis for secession, why are you afraid of it. This is what happens when the east elects the “Idiot King” and allows him to stay in power for nine plus years. The east brought this on by magnifying the political inequities that exist in Canada.

A reminder: There is no legal or moral basis for secession. There is also no practical possibility of it. The mere attempt would be ruinous for everyone involved. Why do we persist in indulging this fantasy — especially now, of all times? We have enough trouble on our hands as it is with the Trump administration. Why hand them the tools with which to divide and destroy us? theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

🚨🇺🇸🇻🇪🇨🇳 CHINA ACCUSES U.S. OF STEALING ITS OIL AFTER TRUMP DIVERTS VENEZUELAN CRUDE TO AMERICA China is livid, and they’re not hiding it. After Trump announced the U.S. will refine and sell up to 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil previously frozen under sanctions, Beijing fired back, calling the move a blatant power grab and a direct hit on their interests. Why? Because that oil wasn’t just sitting there, China had already paid for a big chunk of it, through loan-for-oil deals and state-backed agreements with Maduro’s regime. Trump’s plan? Ignore all that, break the blockade, grab the barrels, and reroute them to U.S. refineries. The pitch: American energy security, because the U.S. is in charge now. This is also about who gets to call the shots in Venezuela post-Maduro, and right now, Beijing just got boxed out while Washington takes over the chessboard. It’s a high-stakes geopolitical standoff over energy, influence, and who controls Latin America’s future. China just lost billions in oil access, but the U.S. just cashed in. Source: Reuters

@RiseOfAlberta This isn’t a talk to your family, friends & neighbours conversation. This a WHY? question. This an education process. An all media blitz on why Alberta is better off on its own or under a restructured Canada (a Western Canada & an Eastern Canada). Otherwise, it fails miserably.

This video is Premier Danielle Smith's entire keynote address to the attendees of 2025 UCP Annual General Meeting in Edmonton (Nov 29, 2025). This is perhaps the best argument I've ever heard for an independent Alberta. She spent the first 5 minutes talking about how she's exhaustingly had to fight Ottawa every step of the way. Sure, Trudeau and Guildbeault are gone, and Carney is more moderate because of Trump, but how long before our next battle with Ottawa? Then she spent 25 minutes explaining how we're different than every other province, and getting a standing ovation for every example. We don't believe in DEI and wokeism. We're getting ready to introduce a "Castle" doctrine. Be believe in private healthcare. We believe in property rights, like gun ownership. We believe parents know best what's good for their kids. We believe in educational choices. We think natural gas, oil, and even coal are good. We believe people who come here should adjust to our way of life, and speak English. We believe individuals should be more responsible, and less dependent on government. We support farmers and entrepreneurs. We'll never get a fair deal in Confederation because the east outnumbers us, and they don't share the same values. The proof is in all the standing ovations she got during her speech. So why does she still think she can negotiate a more sovereign Alberta in a united Canada?

@ABDanielleSmith Danielle Smith cuts a great deal for Alberta and no one on Twitter/X is happy. No one in the media is happy. I guess that means Alberta wins and everyone else that wants to see Smith fail loses. Wait, Guilbeault resigns. Does it get any better for Alberta and Canada.?

BREAKING: The Alberta and Canadian governments have reached a historic agreement that will unleash the Alberta energy sector, create tens of thousands of jobs, and  attract billions in new investment. This deal includes the potential for an additional 1.4 million barrels-per-day in pipeline capacity to the west coast, almost tripling Alberta oil exports to Asian markets. Ottawa has also agreed to drop the oil and gas production cap and suspend the Net-Zero power regs, so Alberta can focus on reducing emissions through our TIER system and world-leading CCUS technology instead. Although this is a massive win for Alberta and Canada, we will still hold the federal government accountable for keeping their end of the bargain. There’s a lot of work left to do so let’s roll up our sleeves and get the job done Alberta! See details of our full announcement here: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

Carney just signed a deal with Alberta that lays out conditions for a new oil pipeline. In doing this, he managed to piss off one of his own cabinet ministers (who promptly resigned), coastal First Nations, the B.C. government, the Green Party and the Bloc Québécois. But uh, here's what he got:

My position is clear: I am unequivocally opposed to any new fossil fuel development — including LNG. Industry and governments have spent years selling the lie that natural gas is a “bridge to the future.” The bridge is burning. We must have the courage to say this to every government, of any stripe: if you’re building new pipelines or fossil infrastructure, this shall not pass.
