On a serious note: DataFast was never meant to be a Google Analytics alternative. DataFast is a marketing tool to grow your startup. It tracks everything from visitor to customer and gives you insights on how to get more business. Revenue attribution is impossible without cookies. Growing a startup is impossible without revenue attribution. At first, I built DataFast without cookies: - Data was 25% inaccurate for digital products - And much worse for products where purchase doesn't happen on the first visit. To track users in line with the GDPR (no cookies, anonymized data, etc.) you have to do advanced puzzles like IP/user agent hashing and ID rotation every 24 hours. Compliance costs accuracy. I chose the latter by using cookies. It's stated in the FAQ & the TOS datafa.st. If you want to use DataFast and be GDPR compliant: show a cookie banner. But keep in mind that cookies are the tip of the iceberg when you run a business. Being GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant is far more complicated than that.
