Been lurking on here for a while, probably time to properly start interacting. Cashed out my ISA which was just VUSA for £7,000 profit after holding for a few years to pursue a property deal that never materialised. Now fully back in.

Was speaking to a friend about private school and it got me thinking… £20k/year for 18 years = £360k Invest that into the S&P 500 at ~7% and you’re looking at ~£700k by 18 That’s a house deposit , no student debt, and a serious head start in life Same money. Completely different outcome. Is private school worth more than a £700k head start? I don’t think so.

@Mariusz_Invest @Barchart Sometimes investing really is simple for me, do I actually use / need this? With PayPal… hard no. Can’t even remember the last time, with Apple Pay and autofill everywhere now.

@DividendDrip 6k at the minute which is probably 2 months living expenses at a push. Should probably get it up, but there’s dips that need buying and ISAs that needed maxing. 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

Lots of stuff said about Trump, and rightly so. But these Trump Accounts are amazing. Can’t help but selfishly think about $HOOD in this situation too 👀

@IndexAndForget Nope. Most IPO’s normally result in losses. I’ll wait 6/ 12 months post-IPO. Let earnings + reality reset the price then consider it.

@SixSigmaCapital If you’re into business history I definitely recommend, American Rascal: How Jay Gould Built Wall Street’s Biggest Fortune by Greg Steinmetz Jay was a master stock and political manipulator but genuinely one of the smartest businessmen in history too.

I’ve just realised I haven’t read a book in more than 6 months which is Highly unusual for me as I’ve read at least 15 each year for most my adult life So with that being said any you’d recommend, non fiction but not necessarily investing books ?

Taking inspiration from @JamesP728, I decided to start an annual net worth update in addition to sharing my investing portfolio progress. So, this is my first one! I'm 36 yrs old. 💰 Net worth £ 748,249 This is broken down into... S&S ISA £39,743.16 SIPP 1 £111,784.71 SIPP 2 £3,320.54 LISA £1,000.85 (Abandoned) Cash ISA £44,756.59 (Savings & Emergency) GIA £3,540.24 Current accounts £4,761.88 Property equity £540,000 (Conservative valuation of £1,050,000) Debt 🏦 Mortgage balance £506,874.14 💳 0% credit card £3,781.19 I've never tracked this before so I don't have a comparison to last year! Though I've probably stood still over the last 12 months given that any savings and investment progress will have been nullified by the effect of the slowing property market on my equity. I'm looking forward to the next one now so that I can actually measure it! 🙂 Have a great Easter weekend everyone 🫡
