A reflection on Chris Roberts, Star Citizen, Squadron 42 and Cloud Imperium Gaming (CIG) as people discuss the company passing $1 Billion in crowd funding. The gaming community funded Star Citizen since 2012, but they actually funded future gaming technology. Some examples: 1) Chris Roberts built Star Engine to allow MMO ( CryEngine and even the new UnReal engine has under performed in running MMO games). Star engine allows for seamless transitions without loading screens. 2) New server meshing technology 3) Developing AI that learns from and challenges player. Possibly allowing AI to enable NPC to generate their own missions for players. 4) Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) developed their own intricate mix of performance capture and technical animation department. 5) custom orchestras/ cinematic music. 6) not to mention Squadron 42 development … second stand alone game. Many things are going on at CIG, not just Star Citizen. Let’s assess some other Game developers: Grand Theft Auto VI: Estimated to have cost between $1billion and $2billion to develop and market prior to its release. Genshin Impact: Has cost upwards of $900million to develop and support through frequent, massive updates since 2020. Monopoly Go!: Reportedly cost over $1billion to develop and heavily market in its first few years. What Chris Roberts did was build a gaming company, created the foundation for new technology and then built the game to run off that said new tech. CIG has developed more than just a game. It’s laying the foundation for a new type of gaming. #Squadron42 #StarCitizen @RobertsSpaceInd #Gaming #GameDevelopment #News

Well, that was fun. Wed night. Making coffee. SUDDENLY, chest tightness. "That's odd. I never feel chest tightness". That stands out because I hear the question "Have you felt tightness of chest recently" at least a dozen times a year. "So that's what if feels like."
