At a time of deepening crisis in #Somalia, more than 30,000 households have received multi-purpose cash support over the past year from the Somali Cash Consortium. “Multi-purpose cash assistance remains one of the most viable ways to provide dignified and prompt support, with its ability to reach populations wherever they are and transfer values that are adaptable to the market context. Through #Hanaano Programme, @RACIDA_Ngo, in partnership with @Concern with support from @Irish_Aid facilitated training of 20 Lead Farmers across Mandera East, Mandera North, Banisa, and Lafey to strengthen last-mile agricultural extension and accelerate community-level impact. The training emphasized practical, field-ready skills, improved farming practices, market linkages and climate-smart agriculture to enhance productivity and resilience. These Lead Farmers now operate as a strategic link between communities and the @Mandera_cgvt Department of Agriculture, driving knowledge transfer, mobilizing farmers for adoption of best practices and providing sustained, on-the-ground technical support.

From Subsistence Farming to Resilient Livelihoods: How #HanaanoProgramme Is Driving Nutrition and Income Transformation in Rhamu, Mandera. In Rhamu, Mandera, Kulmiye Mother-to-Mother Support Group (MtMSG) is redefining farming pathways, transitioning from small-scale production into a resilience-driven livelihood model. What began with vegetables, maize, cowpeas, and watermelon has expanded into papaya cultivation, deliberately diversifying crops to strengthen household resilience, improve food security, and enhance dietary diversity. This is more than production; it’s a strategic shift toward sustainable income and improved nutrition outcomes. Through the Hanaano Programme implemented by @RACIDA_Ngo in partnership with @Concern and funded by @Irish_Aid , MtMSGs are proving to be high-impact platforms, equipping women with the skills, knowledge, and agency to move from subsistence to sustainable livelihoods.
