To think that I discovered the Grandma Test by accident continues to amaze me to this date. I was on the phone with my grandma when I saw a project's pitch deck land in my inbox. Standard thing. I review and design pitch decks all the time, but this time, I did something different. I read the first slide out loud to her. Her response? "Akpan Akaniyene (in our native dialect), I have no idea what that means." Not "tell me more." Not "that sounds interesting." Just a complete, honest confusion from an old woman. That's when it hit me. If my own grandma couldn't understand a single slide, how was a stranger supposed to in 30 seconds? They wouldn't So I ran an experiment. I started reading every Web3 homepage, pitch deck, and product description out loud to people who live outside the crypto world. Friends. Family. Random people willing to listen. When I'm done reading, I would ask them, "What do you think this project actually does?" The pattern was undeniable every single time. The comprehension score circled around 2, 3, or maybe 4 out of 10, making over 95% of Web3 product messaging way off for normal people. Truthfully, I wasn’t looking at bad products. I was looking at brilliant products built by brilliant people, but the words were just so broken. Founders were writing for themselves. They wrote for the 5% of crypto-natives who already spoke the language. They polished their sentences to sound smart and clever, but not even to be understood. And that confusion was quietly eating away and costing them everything: 😭 Ads sent people to a website they couldn’t understand or take action on in three seconds. So they left. 😭 Investor meetings ended with “we’ll pass,” not because the product failed but because the founder's story didn’t land fast enough. 😭 Launch momentum was killed because people couldn’t repeat what the thing did at one go. 😭 Months of budgeting and planning are disappearing into explaining instead of growing. I eventually wrote down what I’d been doing on impulse. I turned it into a simple system. I called it The Grandma Test. Because that's exactly what it is: If your grandma can't understand what you do and why she should care, your messaging isn't ready. Over the past 9 months, I've used The Grandma Test on 8+ Web3 projects. DeFi protocols, infrastructure tools, creator dApps. Every single one had the same problem: brilliant tech, broken words. And every single one improved after applying the framework. Confusion costs you. However, clarity pays you back every single day. I'm the Grandma Test Guy. And I'm here because Web3 deserves a better messaging structure.

Turned out to be my first COLS and Installation Outing I attended the 2026 Club Officers Learning Seminar, themed "Leadership Beyond Boundaries," and the Investiture Ceremony of the 10th District Rotaract Representative, in the person of RTR. Destiny Rukevwe Emurotu (PHF) aka Brave, as the Public Image (PI) Chair of my Club, Rotaract Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan Hybride. Turned out to be my first ever COLS and Installation Outing since I joined the club, and I do hope I actualize all learnt during the PI Chair Seminar. The goal is to grow beyond imaginary heights both inside and outside the club, achieving all dreams that looked impossible to achieve. The mission this year is to create lasting impact to the fullest. #fyp #rotary #rotaract @Rotary @rotaract

In case you missed my last talk before I was suddenly cut off while speaking, let’s pick up right where I left off. I think the absolute first rule of turning a raw idea into a real business is talking to people. But then again, I see a huge mistake happening in this space all the time. Traditional advice always expects early-stage founders to know exactly who their target audience is from day one, and personally, I would say that is a huge trap. When you are just starting, you cannot possibly know who your ideal users are with absolute certainty. You do not have the data yet. In reality, you only have a guess. You have an assumption, and that is completely fine. Once you have that initial guess, your next step is to go out and start asking questions everywhere. But here is the critical part which you should not overlook: you are not asking questions to prove how smart your idea is or to get a pat on the back. You are asking questions to find the holes in your logic. You want to uncover exactly where your product thinking is flawed before you do anything else. Only after you ask those hard questions and collect honest feedback can you figure out the right path forward. That is the exact moment you can finally craft messaging that actually lands and build a strategy to sell your product. At the end of the day, the single best move you can make to turn an idea into a real business is to talk to human beings and let them give you their honest perspective on the problem you want to solve. For the book I mentioned regarding learning how to ask the right questions to help you validate your idea. The book's name is The Mom Test by Rob Fitzpatrick.

Dear Founders and Marketers, Every system that lasts exists because it serves someone's interests. From the outside, many market behaviours look irrational, but actually, they are not. If a behaviour survives over time, it is rewarding someone, even when people explain it differently. This is where many strategies fail. Teams spend months designing new positioning, campaigns, or products without asking a simpler question. What is keeping the current behaviour alive? You cannot reshape a market until you understand the forces protecting the status quo. The patterns shaping your market are often invisible, but they are always at work. Ignore them, and your strategy will struggle to gain traction. The best strategies do more than create new behaviour. They work with existing incentives, redirect them, and make a better path easier to follow.

I’m looking to expand my circle and connect with fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors from every corner of the globe. There is a unique bond that forms when we fellowship through service, and I’d love to trade ideas, share district experiences, or simply connect with like-minded change-makers. If you're in the family, drop your club name and classification/profession in the comments below, or just send me a follow or request. #RotaryInternational #Rotaract #PeopleOfAction #FellowshipThroughService

It's really a messed-up thing that someone would actually share the link to a Google folder created by them, and then when I upload a document there, my own drive also gets filled up. Now, I have to wait for the document to be downloaded by their own end before I can actively use my own drive.

Lately, it has been a little bit tough. Working from both hats and trying to pull things off has really had a huge toll on me. Coupled with the hard losses I had in June, everything is just out of alignment. Product-wise, the more you build and try to patch things up, the more you find out funnels you need to set straight before hitting the runway. System-wise, the more you try to create something simple that you could work with, in that exact moment, life hits you and gets you off the route of the plan you already had in mind. I'm a very happy person, but at times like this, when I just try to disappear so that I can get my life back, many people come running because they need me; some reasons might be very petty, but some are very genuine. And as a man, you have to stand up with your chest up high to think of a way out for them, because you surely know most would drown and drown so hard that after you bounce back, you might not be able to save them again. Gone are those days when nobody really cared about the value I had in their lives, so I could just disappear anytime I liked and come back, and everything would still remain how it was. Even though I really crave those moments, I can't because I'm building the future. The future that changes things and systems for comic and manga creators, readers, and collectors, too. A future that brings power and money back into the hands of creators, both old and new. A future where creators get automatic, perpetual royalties on every resale made on their comics, just wallet-to-wallet payments forever. A future where readers and collectors of comics and manga can have true digital IP ownership. A future where we solve the exact pain, aka the extractive platform model pain Webtoon/Tapas/GlobalComix creators feel. A future that perfectly answers our hero story: “You made it. You should own it. You should earn from it every single time. A future called QUIVA.

We all have to agree that the best creative works don't lose value overnight some become more valuable because time proves their worth so why are creators often paid as if their work has an expiration date?🤔

A creator's connection to their work shouldn't end after it's sold. Every time a story finds a new collector, reaches a new audience, or grows in value, the creator should still be part of that journey. That's the idea behind QUIVA. We're building a marketplace where creators can set royalties that keep them connected to the long-term value of their work, not just the first sale/transaction. If stories have a life beyond launch, why shouldn't creators should too??

Collectors create markets. Creators create what markets exist to collect. Quiva believes both deserve to benefit. That's why creator royalties are such an important piece of the future creator economy.

The first sale shouldn't always be the last opportunity. A creator's work can keep finding new readers. It can become more collectible as it grows more valuable and meaningful with time so why should the creator's journey end after the first transaction? That's why we're building for a different future one where creators stay connected to the value their work creates, even as it continues to be collected and traded because great stories don't stop creating value after day one neither should the people who create them.
Quiva@Quivacomics

A creator makes the comic. A reader buys it. Years later, the comic is still being traded, collected, and valued. Who should benefit from that? The platform? Or the creator who made it in the first place?
