It's so painfully obvious what's going on here. There will be a concerted effort to revert the Right back to 2012 after Trump is out of office. The Neocon wing of the GOP believes they're about to get everything they want. They've pushed for this war only to then offload all the blame for it onto Trump and Vance so they can get their preferred candidate nominated in 2028, or barring that, tank the party so they get one in 2032.

The Senate can't pass a simple Voter ID bill that something like 70% of the public and 100% of the majority party in Congress's base supports.
Meanwhile, probably less than 20% of the public wanted to see Bush War III, but it's increasingly looking like we're getting it anyway.
Something is deeply, deeply broken with our political system on a very fundamental level, and it's going to be a very uncomfortable conversation to have if we're ever going to fix it.

My problem with ending birthright citizenship is that we are clearly incapable of deporting the tens of millions of illegals already here. So we will create a massive population of non citizens living side by side us. That’s a recipe for disaster.

The fact one party has control of the House, Senate, and Presidency but we still have government shutdowns is incontrovertible proof that Congress is a failed institution. This cannot go on. What is the purpose of elections if the majority cannot govern when it wins?

In Phillip K. Dick’s alternate history novel “The Man in the High Castle” where Germany and Japan win WWII, there’s like a two sentence description describing what the Germans did to Africa and it’s heavily implied they just completely wiped it out and I think about that a lot.
