My neighbor bought his house in 1987 for $74,000. He refinanced once. He paid it off. His property taxes are $1,800/year because of how long he's owned it. The exact same house next door just sold for $710,000. The 28-year-old who bought it pays $9,200/year in taxes. And $4,100/month on the mortgage. Same street. Same house. Completely different life. We didn't just price people out of homes. We priced them out of futures.

I debate my family on a daily basis and 99% of the time they hold an opinion I discarded months prior because I had this information the moment it happened and argued with 100 other people about it, helping me form my opinion properly, as everyone should, before they even knew about it. They consistently come to the same opinion as me eventually, months or years later.

I was told the other day I should “just try to agree” with my boomer grandparents about politics when we talk about them because it’s the “nice thing to do”. Mf they VOTE. So long as they vote, they will have their views challenged. This should go without saying, but if you’re not letting age stop you from voting, you’re not letting it stop you from being challenged either. I’m so sick of people thinking they’re too old to be told they’re wrong. This is exactly why they’re wrong about so much. They’re surrounded by ass kissers, then they walk into the voting booth just as retarded as they were the day before and screw us all.

Guess I wasn't clear enough... If you went to the Capitol on January 6, and when the violence began, you DID NOT TURN AROUND, WALK AWAY AND GO HOME, but rather joined in, then you participated in an attack on America, you are a traitor, and you should be stripped of your citizenship and deported. Clear enough?

The funniest take from the post-Massie election is getting lectured by admin meatriders who are on the take (or desperately trying to be) about why @RepThomasMassie got unseated. They literally jump through their ass to pretend it was for every reason except the ACTUAL reason he was removed. Then they pretend like we are "crashing out" by discussing and reacting to this obvious truth with the few remaining honest people who see it and aren't afraid to admit it. We understand the gravity of what happened there but we get this condescending gaslighting from people who pretend we only have this take because we're uninformed.

BREAKING: US Consumer Sentiment officially falls to its lowest level on record in data going back to 1952, down another -10% last month. Consumers now see inflation rising to 4.8% over the next 12 months. This puts the Consumer Sentiment index down -21% since February 2026, before the Iran War. Not even the 1980s saw Consumer Sentiment this low.

@louisvarge Socialism. Before WWI people went looking for a place to work and build something. Now they go looking for a handout. Get rid of the handouts and the bad people will stop immigrating.

i don’t understand why immigration of any sort is universally unpopular. almost every country on earth heavily restricts it this is a recent thing too! before world war 1, you could just take a steamship from Brazil to Paris for $20 and decide you lived in France now what changed? are people bad now? is that the reason more people are even more bad? back then income wasn’t taxed in most jurisdictions either. now we tax our own people’s income & we don’t allow others to immigrate and earn income. i ask again, are people bad? is working bad? where did this zero sum attitude come from? what if we could also start deporting our own citizens, to have as few people as possible. would that be even better? is 0 the best amount of people? what is the point of all this?

“just buy a used car” they said. so here’s what a used car looks like in 2026: 2015 Honda Civic — $14,000 2016 Toyota Camry — $16,000 2017 Ford F-150 — $28,000 these are used cars. with 100k+ miles. that need work. a new car in 2010 cost $28,000. the advice didn’t change. the market did. and now people are signing 7 year loans on used cars they didn’t want just to get to work. “just buy used” was solid advice. it died somewhere around 2021 and nobody updated the script.

@odd_dimensions @ahouse4all “In the Bay Area” - I have figured out your problem. Hell of a lot cheaper to move. If you save 300 a month on the apartment, that’s 3600 a year. You can’t move somewhere easily move for a third of that or less. If you don’t want to move all the time, buy a house.

@ConfoundedSoc @ahouse4all How much does it cost to move? You can't just "keep moving somewhere cheaper" even a 1br studio apt is $1500 or more in the bay area. People are raising the rents to match "the market" and everyone is getting priced out. "Lying about not having much money" is bullshit.

I had almost 300 responses to my Cuba post. The most common reply was: "Because communism." Okay. Let's accept that as true. Communism is a failed economic system. Cuba's government is repressive. Castro was a dictator. Now answer the question: Why does punishing ordinary Cubans with a 67-year embargo serve American interests? If the goal is freedom for the Cuban people, starvation is a strange way to free them. If the goal is regime change, it hasn't worked in 67 years. If the goal is to help Cubans, lifting the embargo costs us nothing and gives them everything. The communism answer explains why we don't like Cuba. It doesn't explain the embargo. Try again.

@ColoradoMac21 He’s done more of what he promised this term than the last. How could you vote for him in 2024 and now try to say he’s betrayed his base? Pence and the other problems aren’t here to stop him now, just congress. Get mad at them.

I haven't been a Never Trumper and I voted for him in 2024 - he turned his back on his coalition once he stepped into the WH - funny though how all the Never Trumpers now are the ones he promotes the most, while the people who actually got him into office and supported him through thick and thin were cast aside.

To anyone calling me a Democrat, Liberal, or Socialist for supporting Thomas Massie... This was me and my freshman year roommate in front of the Denver Capitol in 2009. Like the Tea Party movement, MAGA and/or America First has also been hijacked and perverted into a hollow shell of itself-> still wasting outrageous amounts of tax-payer money which inflates away our savings and buying power, still initiating unconstitutional wars, still protecting the elite class and screwing over the middle and lower class, still no true justice in the swamp, still running off excuses and lies rather than victories. Going along to get along is not an option. Stand up on principles, open discussion, and logic - and if those have to be sacrificed to be on the team, then that team isn't worth being on.

@MW4Liberty If all you do is criticize foreign aid and call out dark money, you’re right. It isn’t anti-Semitic. Most MAGA people agree with both positions (and say so frequently). It’s when they go beyond that that proves they’re anti-Semitic.

Opposing foreign aid while we’re in massive debt isn’t “antisemitic”. Calling out dark money influencing our elections isn't “antisemitic”. Labeling it that way is just the right wing version of the left calling everything "racist." See, both “sides” use the same authoritarian tactic of weaponizing accusations of bigotry to shut down policy debate. Because while they may be “two sides”…they’re one beast. 💁‍♂️

Eating a $15 lunch every day at work costs $300 a month ($75/week). So if your rent goes from $2,000 --> $2,300, it doesnt really matter if you brown bagged lunch, right?
