Absolutely true story-
My boss the CEO made the HR director come in when her heart surgery had to be canceled due to the anesthesiologist not showing up.
She died in front of me.
Slid off her chair and start convulsing. Dead. Her husband got an attorney that said .. sorry dead people can't sue.
Shitty morning that was. I left that job- psychopath.
Within hours he sent out an email telling us not to worry - he would have her position promptly filled.

jw like…. If data centers have the cultural and social and capital importance they are sold as having.,, like, should they not have the same level of security as a nuclear plant.. it would be a target would it not? Seems like another reason to not want one in your area

The proposed Joliet data center would cover 795 acres, about the size of 2.5 Grant Parks. At full buildout, it would consume 1.8 gigawatts of electricity. For reference, the entire City of Chicago uses about 3.45 gigawatts. One facility. More than half of Chicago's power.

20s-40s are the literal prime of life if you lose tolerance to alcohol develop a bunch of allergies , suddenly need 12+ hours of sleep, can’t exercise like you could, can’t remember things anymore, developing new health conditions, getting ill all the time etc, that’s long covid
