We’re putting a special emphasis on addressing teacher shortages. From accelerating and prioritizing teacher recruitment to supporting apprentice teachers, the most important education reform is having a great teacher in the classroom.

Our budget increases education cost sharing by $135 million. That’s in addition to the $720 million in federal resources still to be invested in education over the next two years. This will only help us improve what are some of the best schools in the nation.

Connecticut has and always will have a world class workforce because we continue investing more and more in our college students.

The income tax rate in Connecticut hasn’t been reduced in nearly 30 years. I want to change that. Today, I will announce a proposal to cut income taxes for the middle class and working families.
