Brother, could I have been less snarky? Yes for sure. Perhaps I shouldn't be so sharp. So if your issue is my tone, I can understand. But, no it's not some indictment on my character. Do people only draw conclusions when they say "and in conclusion" in their posts? No. Every post has a point and any reasonable person can discern the logic behind a post. Especially in light of other posts made from the same person.
Secondly, his post isn't a fact. We have the words of Jesus recorded in the 4 gospels. So it's simply not true that people didn't record Jesus' words.
Now if you assume the gospels aren't reliable, that doesn't make his post any more valid because he makes other claims about Jesus' teachings in other posts. But if we don't have any direct knowledge of Jesus' words then where does his knowledge of Jesus come from?

When we say "Jesus said...", what we should mean is "Someone said Jesus said." Basic hermeneutics.

His post has Jesus saying he was never recorded and that Jesus never wrote anything down. His conclusion then is that we can only know what others said Jesus said. What's the logic behind that kind of assertion? What other conclusion is being made other than "we don't know what Jesus said"?

pretending he said anything like "we don't know anything Jesus said or did" is a gross mischaracterization so beyond what he said it could only be seen as reasonable and representative for a Christian apologist

Many of my theologian friends think this is one of my best cartoons. I suppose it's because it illustrates that we interpret scripture through our own fears and fantasies so that they confirm our preconceptions and magically mirror what we already believe. Confirmation bias.
