Whitehaven Rugby League are delighted to announce the re-signing of vice captain @Connorholliday3 as the club’s longest serving player being granted a testimonial for the 2026 season beginning in February. Having being the only surviving member of the 2024 squad Holliday led from the front in 2025 taking on the role of captain in the absence of Jordan Burns during large parts of the campaign making 21 appearances scoring four tries and one goal. Holliday ended the campaign starting for Cumbria in last weekend’s representative fixture vs Nigeria crossing for a second half try. The club are delighted to also confirm that Connor has been granted a testimonial for the 2026 campaign due to start in February in a season which should see Holliday cross the 200 appearances with the 30 year old currently sat on 197 appearances in Haven colours. Further information to come in the following weeks and months regarding events to come throughout the year. Speaking about extending Holliday’s stay at The Ortus Rec until the end of 2027 head coach Anthony Murray spoke saying “Connor is everything you could want in a player and a person. He’s professional in his approach, sets the standard every day, and is the kind of teammate who lifts those around him. His leadership, honesty, and commitment to the club are second to none — and this testimonial is truly deserved for everything he’s given to Whitehaven over the years.
