@pat_nolan The GAA can do nothing really give him a suspension that won't be enforced because no body monitors these things and unless Ballyhale or the player he hit take a civil case which they won't nothing will really happen

Should have been dealt with years ago. He has no business in a GAA ground. Everyone in Offaly knows who and what I’m talking about.

In the middle of all the election drama the real democratic process in Ireland (gaa congress) has gone completely under the radar. Gaelic football rules have been changed substantially and it will be a very different game in 2025.

@smerconish I live in Ireland Trump will destroy our economy if elected by pulling US foreign direct investment but my question is what happens if neither candidate makes it to 270?

I find myself not wanting to go to bed for fear that I’ll wake up in the morning and realise it was all a dream! But it wasn’t a dream and these lads have all Offaly folk dreaming again - a permanent grin won’t be leaving my face for a while.🙌

So Offaly GAA twitter is up in arms tonight at the new football structures, with (seemingly) very good cause. Yet clearly, the majority of clubs voted for it. So is there anyone out there from one of those clubs who would like to defend the decision? I'd genuinely love to hear.

Sid’s sidestep to tee up John Troy, Joe Erritty’s persistence, Joe Dooley’s point to lift the crowd. What a day and what a summer.

@JohnnyRC88 Given the speed of the incident in real time and how it looked, I would in no way blame David Gough for getting it wrong, but that looks pretty clearly like the ball comes off the ground in between his calf muscles to me? Purely with the benefit of slo-mo of course.

@ConorFeehan83 @paulwynne100 I had been led to believe that at intercounty level, there was a lot more feedback etc. But your experience trumps my secondhand hearsay on that

@lonesharkoy @paulwynne100 I agree with Kevin in a past life I was lucky to umpire at a decent level in the gaa there is no backup training or mentorship you get a referee's report that is the final word no chance to explain your decisions or why you made them until this process is changed flawed

@paulwynne100 @ConorFeehan83 It's not a job though. There's decent expenses in it, yeah, but that's only for the very top level (which is competitive, by any measure). And most jobs (I don't know yours!) don't have anything like that same "split second" element.

@lonesharkoy Agreed but the recording should be given to the so called referee's assessor personally I think it time review system in gaa to many big hits going unpunished

@ConorFeehan83 Not sure I'd agree with opening it up to the public - but given the safety implications of concussions, you'd like to think that calls like this would be analysed in detail by those overseeing such things, certainly.
