@ConsciousKeith @JapaMala108 This is my thought as well
People really like to remove personal responsibility from their own spiritual development which is about as backwards as I can imagine
Feels to me like something in the world is trying to convince people to not change
English

Origen spoke of a transmigration of the soul where one goes through phases or realms; sort of like a proto-tollhouse idea, where one has to go through a spiritual realm where one meets several demons and move past them.
We do know reincarnation is Biblical. John the Baptist was the reincarnation of Elijah (Matthew 11:14). The Gnostic texts also speaks of reincarnation and recursion (the world or someone's life on repeat) due to misalignment.
English

@ElderZimriah Does the framework of Apokatastasis incorporate reincarnation in its understanding?
I'm not extremely well-versed in the Gnostic worldview to the point where I would know the answer to that question (though I know the basics).
English

@ConsciousKeith Even under the framework of Apokatastasis there is something like an alchemical change of the soul. Thought the Gnostic Christian tradition there are several conditions of the soul post mortem, so I'm definitely with you.
English

@_belikesam One of the lessons from this past year and half has been impermanence..from so many different angles.
English

@loveisolive Personal experience is definitely different in that way for sure..
English

@ConsciousKeith yeah I mean, it's easy to disagree in abstracts but when it comes to personal experience, it's what all the rage is about, no? the gaslighting, the lack of consent, the invalidation, the dismissal, it's all forms of disagreement.
English

@loveisolive Like someone denying your personal experience?
English

@ConsciousKeith Yeah,
Disagreement shouldn't become reason for breaking of friendship. Disagreement means that both people embrace their individuality. That also means that they, are remaining honest to each other, as they are, and to themselves too.
Having frequent disagreement is healthy sign.
English

Yeah, those incompatibilities are real.
A sincere flat-earther and a sincere astronomer can both try hard, but only one reaches accurate cosmology.
The monk and the Satanist, the atheist and the yogi, the righteous leader and the psychopathic politician, they are not all climbing the same mountain. Their goals and directions are often opposite.
Sincerity matters, but it doesn’t make every path equivalent.
Tolerance doesn’t require pretending that they all lead to the same summit.
Conscious Keith@ConsciousKeith
"All paths lead to the same mountaintop" The ascetic monk will be at the same mountaintop as the satanist..? The atheist will arrive at that same place as the practicing yogi..? The righteous leader will see a psychopathic politician there..? Yeah, I don't know about that one bruh..
English

True, but personally I would add a little bit to that:
I would say that when a Soul is ready (possibly after many many lifetimes), they will start choosing paths that lead towards that Union.
Yes, this will happen for every Soul eventually, sure, but all paths are not the same.
Just like in every day life, some roads lead towards the destination while others lead the opposite way.
English

@ConsciousKeith over many lifetimes, yeah. all paths of life lead to the eternal union with the spirit within sooner or later.
English

@JapaMala108 A very big difference.
Saying all paths end up at the same place conveniently erases personal responsibility and meaning.
"Since all paths end up at the same place nothing I do here matters."
English

@ConsciousKeith Yeah, there's a big difference between saying "multiple" paths versus "all" paths lead to the same destination. The latter is just absurd.
English

@as_she_listens That's a better choice than trying to swim against the current..
