We had a peaceful, family-filled Father’s Day celebrating the man who loves and takes care of us so well. What an immense blessing it is that the father to my four children is also my favorite person in the world. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating their dads/husbands. Fathers: you are irreplaceable!

Allie Beth Stuckey conducted a solid interview with JD Vance, and I appreciated both her thoughtful questions as well as her very ladylike pushback on a couple of points. Vance's answer to Allie's last question was encouraging to hear. He's been on quite a journey, and I'm praying that God will continue leading him into a full understanding of biblical truth and that his wife, Usha, will also place her faith in Jesus Christ. Allie Beth: "Why should people have hope? Vance: "Well, because Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came down from Heaven and is ultimately the Author of history. And one of the things that I think that if you actually believe that, if you actually believe that God Himself became man and died to give grace to human beings, you just have to have hope. You don't always have to be happy, right? Sometimes you can be very depressed and still be hopeful. But I I do think that I just fundamentally, because I believe that God is the Author of history, things are going to work out. By the way, they may work out long after I'm gone. And I think about this all the time." Link to full interview below

I asked VP JD Vance about the surge in at-home abortions due to mail-order abortion pills. Under the Biden FDA, the abortion pill became accessible by mail, which has led to a surge in at-home abortions. The policy has not yet been reversed by the Trump administration. While the admin has scored some major pro-life wins, this is a big concern for many pro-life advocates. We also discuss abortion abolitionism vs. incrementalism, and what really works.

You can see the real joy on the Vice President's face when he talks about the moment he found out they were expecting their fourth child. It's so cool to have elected leaders who are also growing their families 🥹

Vice President JD Vance shares the exact moment he found out Usha was pregnant with their fourth child. “I came home pretty late that night. I go to the bathroom to take off my suit, and there's one of the instant tests there with a positive. And that was how Usha told me. I remember I was so excited." After Charlie was assassinated, he says a heartbreaking and tearful conversation with Erika on the flight from Utah to Arizona led him and Usha to try for a fourth baby. Six weeks later, they were expecting.

A 6-year-old boy was found floating unconscious in a Florida pool. Seconds later, an ICE officer jumped in to save him. ICE law enforcement officer Gregory Simmonds spotted the child in distress in Pasco County on May 16 and immediately pulled him from the water. The child wasn't breathing, and Simmonds began life-saving CPR at the scene until the boy regained consciousness. Local authorities say the child is expected to make a full recovery, a rescue DHS is calling an act of bravery.

When my oldest was born, they refused to let me hold her because her oxygen levels were low. But I was persistent, and they eventually relented, allowing her to lay on my chest until the NICU nurse came to roll her away. When the nurse arrived, I asked that they check her oxygen levels one more time before taking her. They did. Oxygen: 100%. Perfect. The nurse shrugged and left. Our baby girl was healthy. She just needed me. My heartbeat, my warmth, my touch. She needed her mom. Stories like this aren’t rare. Newborns need their moms to regulate their oxygen and heart rate. That’s why, when at all possible, most doctors and hospitals give baby to mom right away. We know this when it comes to normal births, but when it comes to surrogacy - especially the kind when two men are purchasing a baby from a woman - the baby is immediately and intentionally taken away from his or her mom and given to two strangers. It is not surprising that these babies often undergo complications post-birth. Beyond that, we don’t fully know the physiological and psychological effect of robbing babies of their mothers at birth. It’s worse treatment than we give puppies and kittens, but when it’s for “inclusion,” it’s celebrated. Adoption is one thing - it redeems a broken situation. But surrogacy is another - it intentionally creates the broken situation. Babies’ needs will always matter more than adults’ wants.

“We are slowly disabling our children.” Yikes! Super Nanny Jo Frost is calling out parents who refuse to foster independence in their kids. Instead of potty training, teaching them to ride bikes, or letting them brush their teeth by themselves, too many parents are doing these tasks for their kids, failing to help them thrive. The consequence, she says, is a generation of incapable kids: kids who don’t develop critical thinking, dexterity, or athleticism because they were never challenged. The future for these children - and for the rest of us - is bleak if parents don’t start encouraging capability and self-sufficiency.
