I will now be standing as the Conservative candidate for Speldhurst and Rusthall in the Borough elections in May 2026. I will hold to account the Liberal Democrats running the Borough, whose Local Plan threatens uncontrolled development of our villages, Reform whose management of the County Council has exposed their incompetence and naivety, and the Labour government who are already more unpopular than any before them after only 18 months in power. As a Conservative I stand for a smaller state, delivering essential services more effectively (but staying out of our lives where it is not needed), lower taxation (made possible by a smaller state), control of immigration and removal of the regulatory and bureaucratic burden on small businesses and ordinary people. I want people to be allowed to succeed, as that is the only way to prosperity. You cannot tax your way to growth, as we are all now discovering.

BREAKING: Labour have used the courts to overturn the ban on the Epping migrant hotel, allowing the hotel to reopen. Yet again, Keir Starmer has ignored the views of local people.

This is an extremely disappointing decision. Yvette Cooper used taxpayer money - your money - to keep open a hotel housing illegal migrants. The Government’s lawyers argued accommodating illegal migrants was in the “national interest”. In court they said the right of illegal migrants to free hotels is more important than the rights of the British people. Well, they are not. The British Government should always put the interests of the British people first. Starmer’s Government has shown itself to be on the side of illegal migrants who have broken into our county. But this is not a free pass for asylum hotels. Councils can and should still act to close hotels. If they don’t, residents will rightly ask, on whose side are they? My team and @LawForBorders will continue to provide legal assistance to help protect communities. There is no acceptable accommodation for illegal migrants. The Government should be prioritising Brits in need and deporting every illegal migrant, as the last Government should have done and I've argued for years.

BREAKING: The Court of Appeal has overturned an injunction that would have blocked the use of the Bell Hotel in Epping to house asylum seekers The home office argued that the human rights of asylum seekers ultimately trumped the concerns of local residents The Court of Appeal found that the temporary injunction would have incentivised unlawful protests and encouraged other councils to apply for injunctions It said the judge made an 'erroneous decision' in denying the Home Office the right to take part in the legal proceedings 'If an outbreak of protests enhances the case for a planning injunction, this runs the risk of acting as an incentive for further protests. There is a risk of encouraging further lawlessness'

The rate of inflation rose again to 3.8% today. That means your food shop, rent, transport and every day life is getting more expensive under Labour. 3.8% is almost double what it was when the Conservatives left office. Inflation in the Euro area is around the target 2%. Let’s be clear: inflation is not a force of nature - the price rises we are experiencing can be linked directly to government policy. Energy prices driven by net zero fanaticism, hospitality and food hit by labour costs rocketing after the Jobs Tax. These price rises are not inevitable. They are a choice. Labour’s choice. Instead of fixing it, Labour is making it worse. They are spending, borrowing, and taxing more. Killing growth. Crushing businesses. Leaving families poorer. Only the @Conservatives are serious about cutting govt spending, reducing burdens on business, and bringing down the national debt.

Good news and a victory for the mums and dads I spoke to in Epping who just want their children to be safe. Putting a hotel full of young male illegal immigrants in the middle of a community like Epping was always going to lead to issues. They need to be moved out of the area immediately. But Epping is just one of many towns struggling with these asylum hotels. Labour have no solution, they're not smashing any gangs and small boat arrivals are at record highs. I do have a plan - bring back a proper deterrent and remove all illegal arrivals immediately, so towns like Epping never have to deal with this again.

Strong words from the PM, however 👀... We can reveal that in 2004 he defended a man who broke into an RAF base and tried to set fire to British aircraft. Starmer argued his actions were legal because they were to stop an 'illegal war.' How can we trust what he says now?

The act of vandalism committed at RAF Brize Norton is disgraceful. Our Armed Forces represent the very best of Britain and put their lives on the line for us every day. It is our responsibility to support those who defend us.
