when liberal capitalism is in crisis, parasitic capital will always prefer to lean into fascism to defeat communism. fascism restores the capitalist order by force, by creating divisions along boundaries of nationality, ethnicity & religion among the working class.

I think China outperforming America and Europe in finance capital so hard that they can reinstate an industrial proletariat in the imperial core and ripen the conditions for revolution is the funniest possible outcome of Deng Xiaoping thought. Did you ever doubt the plan, anon?

Many people who make this argument about the lefts view on immigration don’t actually understand the leftwing position on it A lot of people on the left agree that using immigration to access exploitable cheap labour is bad. Bringing people in to do harder jobs for lower pay because they fear losing their visa is exploitative. The disagreement is about the CAUSE of the problem. Demonising immigrants does nothing to remove the fundamental power imbalance between workers and capital. If companies rely on cheap labour and immigration is restricted, but corporations still hold all the bargaining power, they simply go to the politicians who they lobby “Lower labour costs or we relocate production, automate jobs, demand deregulation, or push for tax breaks.” Nothing fundamental has changed. The leverage still sits with the big capital. In many cases, restricting immigration without strengthening labour rights just shifts the pressure onto domestic workers instead. The left-wing argument is that workers should be viewed as a CLASS, not as competing groups divided by passports. If migrant workers have the same wages, union protections, labour rights, and bargaining power as everyone else, they become much harder to exploit and far less useful as a source of artificially cheap labour. The real solution is reducing the ability of employers to exploit ANY worker. “The left supports mass migration” is a strawman to avoid engaging with that argument
Ellie Rofe@eliotranch

Explain to me how mass immigration is a 'left wing' concept. I can't fathom how people swallowed this idea wholesale. - Endless supply of cheap labour helps capitalists, not workers - Strip mining of talent from developing countries is a form of neocolonialism - Endless pressure on the housing market inflates assets and prevents the poorest from having reasonably priced homes - A refusal to train enough people here removes vocation paths that the working class used to follow - The most negative social and cultural second order consequences are happening to working class, deindustrialised or neglected areas So it's left wing how? I can see how anti-immigrant sentiment can be seen as ethnonationalism and therefore right wing. But I can't see how support for mass immigration is left wing. And to be clear: it's not just a part of left wing thought. It's now so central to left wing thought, apparently, that any divergence from this immediately makes you 'far right'.

Class consciousness demands that you recognize this as the class war enemy action that it is. This is a direct assault on the global working class, and it's how the entirety of the global ruling class views us all. We are vermin to them.

For absolutely no reason, here's a clip from a real estate multi-millionaire Tim Gurner in 2023 saying unemployment needs to aggressively rise so workers “learn their place.”
