@secretrunnings1 @EnglandAthletic @MillomSchool @SL_Consult @parkrunUK There are no other track facilities within 30 miles, the field is usually flooded and was labelled as “the muddiest uk park run”. All levels of runners will benefit from this track in some way.

How great is this new facility at @MillomSchool in Cumbria? Despite limited space for a standard oval 400m facility, @SL_Consult have designed a straight track and trail jogging route for students, the local community and @parkrunUK to enjoy running and walking around!

@EnglandAthletic @MillomSchool @SL_Consult @parkrunUK How is this going to boost performance sport/training? Do parkrunners really need an all-weather surface? What’s wrong with existing pavements and footpaths? Why replace grass with rubber? Also not floodlit so not much use in winter?

When is a track not a track? Are these unlit jogging trails a good idea? When did the focus shift so completely away from performance to mass participation? Worrying….

Unfortunately, @morgan_a_lake has had to withdraw from the women’s high jump final. Lake sustained a foot injury during a successful qualification round where she jumped a seasons best 1.95m to automatically qualify for the final. Wishing Morgan a speedy recovery. #TeamGB
