Volume up. 🔈 We're taking you to the Peruvian Amazon this #WorldRainforestDay. All recorded and captured by our team in Peru. We know that so much rainforest has been lost over the years but so much is still standing. This is just a snapshot of what’s left, and it’s worth protecting. 🌳 🌱

The Awajún community protect nature, not exploit it. Living along the banks of the Marañon river, they are the second-largest Indigenous group in the Amazon (after the Asháninka), their mutual coexistence with rainforest is their way of life. We partner with two Awajún communities to support them with continuing this balance. 💚

A lot can change in one year. At the end of 2024, we opened our very first Rainforest Lab in Papua New Guinea. What once began as an empty structure is now a community hub, equipped with cutting-edge technology and solar power, to empower local communities to monitor and protect their rainforest. From the Amazon to the New Guinea forest, we've helped build these unique labs as a space where Indigenous knowledge meets satellite technology. One of the many weird and wonderful creatures that the forest monitors find in the Amazon! This here is a Congompe - a giant snail. 🐌 The forest monitors are deeply committed to identifying wildlife and plants in their forests, and sharing their knowledge with their community. With the help of tablets and GPS devices that we provide them with, they are able to collect valuable data and insights into the rainforest.
