There are several simple changes you can make right now to reduce your exposure to microplastics and PFAS from your diet.
1. Filter your water (I'd prioritize a high-quality carbon block or reverse osmosis filter).
2. Stop heating food in plastic - heat accelerates chemical leaching. Don’t microwave plastic containers, pour hot coffee into plastic-lined cups, or store hot, acidic, or fatty foods in plastic.
3. Ditch PFAS-based nonstick cookware (I'd use stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, or high-quality ceramic instead).
4. Reduce plastic food contact from processed foods, canned foods, plastic packaging, and plastic storage.

@kzitouni1 I hate that this is true because I wanted X to work like a vending machine: insert thought, receive audience

@CoachDanGo You think you need a life reset and then your body is like “try sweating first, idiot”

@LeilaHormozi the annoying part is some of the least disciplined people are also the most fun

@ItsKieranDrew It’s tempting to think of purpose as a solo enterprise. But it usually needs some kind of social structure to survive long term.

"You seem lonely."
I'm on a coaching call. It was meant to be a routine catch up, but my mind was a mess. It was February this year, and I had just finished the second draft of my book.
But my energy was spanked.
My initial reaction to her comment was defensiveness. Being alone is a writer's cross to bear, I told myself.
But she was right. I was lonely. And it sucked.
The book had been demanding. I wasn't talking to anyone. I wasn't engaging in any communities. Aside from a few clients, I wasn't working with customers.
I'd moved to South America so I wasn't seeing my best friends much either.
And honestly?
It f**king sucked.
It's not that I wasn't enjoying the writing. I loved it. But after the initial excitement of the project died down, I was left with the long slog. And because there are few people writing books in my space, I had no one to share my progress with, or fight through my doubts.
… of which there have been many.
My coach's remark made me think.
I realised that there were probably a lot of people in my audience feeling the same about their journey. You might not be writing a book, but you're probably building something. I reached out to my clients and peers, and many agreed.
They felt stuck in a slump, grinding things out, with no real purpose.
I think it’s more important than ever to join a community of some sort.
Writing is a solo sport, but having support makes a massive difference.

@Markmanson At the very least, facing it gives you information. Avoiding it keeps you anxious.

@CorePillars Most people are operating in permanent partial attention.

@thejustinwelsh Time is the ultimate scarce asset. Not money.

@thejustinwelsh Interesting. I feel it's challenging to keep this clarity. Any suggestions to help yourself remember?

@unkonfined This is harder said than done, but I think it's powerful
