DELAWARE WING-T HISTORY This treasure from 1961 just arrived. Arguably the rarest Wing-T book authored by Nelson and Evashevski. For years I only heard whispers of it, often wondering if it really existed. Then suddenly… divinely… it was on eBay. Filled with unreal plays, this was the authors’ update to their original 1957 masterpiece. It is perhaps “Winged T” version 1.5 if you will. Notice the Iowa Hawkeyes color scheme. Likely a tip of the hat to Evashevski’s three Big Ten championships and two Rose Bowl victories, all with this offense. New formations emerged, many new concepts innovated, some plays we know and love, and even some plays lost to legend and fable are all hidden in here. If you look closely you can also see a young Tubby Raymond’s hand involved, as the official illustrator of this book, his first published credit, as an artist. It’s beautiful. 📖🏈
