We are grateful to Mayor Mendenhall & the SLC Council for leading with integrity to protect Utahns’ safety, dignity, and vital water resources. ICE detention facilities are inhumane, strip people of their dignity, and have a documented history of abuse and violence. These facilities have no place in Utah.

Mendenhall said a facility like a detention center could interfere with her responsibility to ensure residents can access clean water and reliable utilities. sltrib.com/news/2026/03/2…

@abc4utah Sounds like the 2020 SL School Board members that were anti-Trump and wouldn’t allow kids to attend school in person with no real plan for at-home learning while Trump was in office.

SLC Mayor Mendenhall using this years dry winter to shut down water usage for DHS ICE detention in Salt Lake City. Her statement ahead of tonight's council meeting, "Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall issued the following statement ahead of tonight’s Salt Lake City Council meeting. “Yesterday I transmitted a proposal to the Salt Lake City Council to update Title 17 and Title 21A of the Salt Lake City Code, which pertain to daily water allowances for nonresidential uses. New large water users are particularly problematic due to Salt Lake City’s worsening drought conditions and water conservation needs, which we are already taking action to address. Just last week, I directed Salt Lake City and our entire service area to move to Stage 2 of our Water Shortage Contingency Plan. As Mayor, a primary responsibility I have is to ensure residents have access to clean water, reliable utilities, and safe infrastructure. Put simply, a potential high-occupancy facility interferes with those needs. While we lack direct information from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a 7,500-person detention facility on our City’s west side would likely use 1-2 million gallons of water per day. By comparison, the warehouse recently purchased previously used about 5,600 gallons daily. Should they be approved, these water usage updates would enact tighter restrictions on all government entities, ensuring that the amount of water new commercial and industrial developments can use is in line with our City’s capacity.”

Just toured the Lindon Temple open house. As a non-member, I didn’t know what to expect, but it was incredible. What’s a bucket list temple I need to visit?

Costco just rolled out Kirkland Signature sparkling energy drinks. It’s a 24-pack for $16.99, with peach, orange, and tropical flavors. Each can has 200 mg of caffeine, so this is clearly Costco taking a shot at the Celsius crowd.

I have an honest question for my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint followers, intended with genuine respect. I've been studying early church history, including the church's own Gospel Topics Essays — and I'd love your perspective. How do you personally reconcile the following about Joseph Smith? And has it ever challenged your faith? 1. Married Helen Mar Kimball at 14 (he was 37) 2. Sealed himself to 11 women already married to living husbands 3. Concealed polygamy from Emma and the public (asked plural wives to keep it secret) 4. Ordered the destruction of the Nauvoo Expositor, the press about to expose it all These aren't anti-Mormon talking points — the church itself acknowledges them. I'm genuinely curious and appreciate all sincere responses. 🙏

@HonestYPTweets It’s not Christianity. They deny the Trinity, the believe that God has a wife and they believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers.

Is it time to start asking how Utah tax dollars are being spent? Is an audit in order? Should they curtain off Athletics outside of gymnastics and skiing? The questions totally neutral and unbiased BYU fans are asking ❓❓
