@dugb26 I don't disagree, but coming out of the loser's bracket puts such a strain on your staff/bullpen that it is worth the risk. Also - I suspect keeping guys "on schedule" plays into the decision making.

Since the 2005 CWS team, Nebraska is 3-7 in their NCAA Regional openers, with losses to Manhattan, UC Riverside, Yale, and UConn. In their three Game 1 wins, the scores were 13-10, 8-5, and 8-6. NU can't make the winner's bracket if they don't win their first game.

@RobinHardy2 @DiamondHeels I’m assuming since they are season ticket holders and know the location, they put them out there and will deliver to the buyer after they get them. I’ve never sold tickets on the secondary market though so I don’t know how it goes.

@mitchsherman This would make sense, but why not be airing ranked teams on BTN all year? The reruns they air aren’t getting better numbers.

The Big Ten is a major stakeholder in BTN. And the league’s priorities are to make money, evidenced by actions taken in every corner of college sports. The league and its network have never had a chance to put the No. 1 team in the nation on prime time TV during the postseason. And that opportunity won’t come again next month. So they should have just scheduled UCLA for right now, instead of manipulating the schedule — and in the process gaslighting thousands of fans who bought tickets to the Nebraska quarterfinal today. Worse yet, those fans will have to wait a couple more hours to find out if they need to use those tickets for the 5 PM game tonight at 11 or pack up and come back tomorrow morning.
