Peter Lawrence, the councillor from Mylor, Cornwall who delivered an antisemitic rant to camera during Saturday' so-called 'Great British Strike', is not a councillor for the Reform Party as is being reported. Lawrence is actually a councillor for the fascist British Democrats and was elected unopposed to Mylor Parish Council in April. In 2024 he had run for election as a candidate for the far right National Housing Party but soon afterwards changed his allegiance. Lawrence was filmed on Saturday claiming, amongst other things, that world Jewry had declared war on Germany, that Hitler never ordered the destruction of the Jews and that the Holocaust had been "massively over-exaggerated". But perhaps we should not be surprised when we know that he represents a party, the British Democrats, whose President, Andrew Brons, once said that people who wanted to bomb synagogues were "well-intentioned". @uaf @AntiRacismDay
