@vikesfan27777 @ShaneHaffNFL @masonmoh2 So does every QB outside of the top 3 in raw counting stats just not qualify as good in your opinion? Only a few teams get to have an elite QB, and only the Chiefs have even parlayed that into a SB win. Hurts is good enough to orchestrate a SB offense, anything else is moot

@ShaneHaffNFL @masonmoh2 It was a top 10 supporting cast all time on offense that year and your flexing finishing 10th and 13th That shows how bad Hurts is. You just proved his point without knowing it.

Here is what I'll say about the Jalen Hurts article. He has had 2 competent offensive coordinators in his career. Both left for head coaching positions after Super Bowl seasons. He has also had 2 incompetent offensive coordinators in his career. Both were first-time NFL playcallers, both went 1 and done, and neither is even a position coach now. Hurts has limitations. He has preferences. Every QB does. A good OC works with his QB and meets in the middle to find what works for everyone. Two guys did that. Two guys didn't. The results speak for themselves. If you want to use those preferences to argue that the son of a coach, who also played for Nick Saban, isn't coachable, that's where you lose me. The article even acknowledges that both Moore and Steichen came in with a plan about how the offense would function, while lines were more blurred with Johnson and Patullo. I fully expect Mannion to come in with a plan as well and push back on Hurts' preferences when necessary. He doesn't have the clout of being a longtime coach or an experienced playcaller, which does make it a bit of a dice roll. But Hurts has a relentless work ethic, and after the way last season ended, I'd expect him to be more open to change, especially if it is coming from someone competent.

@Bmk6971 @JacobQKnight They also just made Freaky Tales, and both NWR and Derek Cianfrance are still doing their thing. It's fine if he's content to do lighter fare, but it's not like he doesn't have options.

@CorsLight25 @JacobQKnight The director of half Nelson made captain marvel. Those directors he worked with during his indie era are now studio directors.

Guy gets an Oscar nomination two years ago for turning a literal plastic doll into a funny, weird character who also sings and dances in a massive musical number. Some Clown on Twitter: gonna need ya to step it up, pal. No more layups.

I’m sure PROJECT HAIL MARY is great, and this is not the movie’s fault… But I’m gonna need Ryan Gosling to take on more challenging roles soon. Seeing one of the greatest leading actors of my generation kind of coast for the past 10 years has been, frankly, disheartening.

@JacobQKnight The Nice Guys is among my all-time favorite films and he's incredible in it, so no argument here. But there's definitely a stoic/darker side to him that's been all but lost since then. I found his charm a lot more forced in PHM, but I'm by no means suggesting he lacks skill

@CorsLight25 I’d rank THE NICE GUYS amongst his very best performances, so the “funny guy” stuff doesn’t bother me. Also, your categorization is pretty reductive, as it’s frankly hard to be as funny as he often is on screen.

Only Nomadland is outright evil and bad. CODA is a nice TV movie that should never have even sniffed the Oscars. EEAAO predictably aged quite poorly, but Green Book is more charming than any of us would like to admit. SoW remains underrated, top 3 films are all masterpieces

@realhoopermovie I found Napa Boys funny yet overly cynical. Sounds like you wanted a movie that refutes any sense of fandom or parasocial bond, but the joke of Napa Boys seemed to be that I'm even watching it in the first place, whereas NTBTM respected us enough to let us in on the joke.
