@coachbdixon Impressive! Are these done indoor in your hallway, or spikes up on track? Do you know what the difference would be?

@xoclinics @dacoachmohuddle @txhsfbchat @CoachRapp_O @CoachKelleyCHHS @justplayfb @BarryHoover @CoachAdamGaylor Will be first year in 3-3 if we go with it. Been a cover 1 and 0 team. Thinking about mixing in cover 3 and / or some trap. One Issue keeping us from doing his in the past is ability to keep looks and run fits the same vs 3x1 and 2x2 in cover 1 and zone. Anyone willing to share?

@coachcasey14 One of the most dominant players I’ve coached against.

Coaches challenge alert! I was nominated by @nmechaelsen. Once you are nominated you have 24 hours to post a picture of yourself coaching, or you donate $20 to local charity. Then nominate four coaches to do so.

@sambrummer I wish they would just pair up sister districts & play 7v7, 6v6, etc w/ the non qualifiers... in theory more teams end the year with a winnable game.
Every other year you only get 4 home gates anyway so I don’t know if booster clubs and ADs would be affected too much below 4A.
English

cant say im a fan of 8 game season... and am sure most schools/ booster club budgets would agree

@kurtmatthewson I think the RPI will help with blowouts like you said. I like 8/32 over 9/16 and it seems like iahsaa will not go back to 9/32 so it’s best option for 32 qualifiers. I’d prefer to make sure everyone got 9th game by matching up nonqualifiers with sister districts (7v7, 6v6, etc).
English

@ncarr2356 Probably so. I wish I lived somewhere it was warm all the time:) Unfortunately I don’t and in Iowa the weather can be bad any day of the week and any time of year. I wouldn’t care if we played on Saturday if it would be warmer, but that would be a hard sell for many. Good convo!

@CoryFaust I went to the 2nd round of playoffs in Audubon Iowa this year and it was so cold for everyone. People weren’t even getting out of their cars to watch. I bet some of the older family members would have liked to have watched the game too.

This is good news for Iowa kids. More teams in the playoffs means more young men that are able to experience postseason football. Hopefully the IHSAA will trust their coaches and athletic directors and allow 32 teams in the playoffs.

BOONE, Iowa — The Iowa High School Athletic Association will consider a proposal to expand the prep football playoffs to 32 teams per class, it said during its December meeting Thursday. siouxcityjournal.com/sports/high-sc…

@GCHSFB @CSpieker56 @TornadoFB @ncarr2356 life lessons that are really what extracurricular activities are all about.
English

@GCHSFB @CSpieker56 @TornadoFB @ncarr2356 misinformation, year round club sports, and more. Coaches have changed the way they coach. We need to keep making our awesome game better and more marketable. These are the reasons why coaches want to expand. Trust me, it’s not because they aren’t teaching kids all those great

@ncarr2356 ... the years, I feel obligated to try to tell all sides.
As far as Saturday’s, the issue with that is competing with college football and the fact that so many people just love Friday night lights no matter the weather.
English

@ncarr2356 Not at all. I can see why fans or former HS players disagree with expanding, because in my opinion they aren’t as close to the kids. I hate posting about stuff like this on social media. As someone who has spent a good chunk of time working on making the game better for kids over

@kurtmatthewson Blowouts are part of football, and all sports actually. They happen in all rounds.
English

@kurtmatthewson I agree on 24 being better probably, but I hear more complaints about that bye than the 32 field. A lot of people wouldn’t even want the bye if they had earned it. The blowout scores are not a reason not to expand. 4s beat 1s on multiple occasions. Lots of games were competitive.
