Before he was Pro Football Hall of Fame Joe Greene, leader of the Pittsburgh Steelers’… he was a high school player in the Prairie View Interscholastic League (PVIL) at Dunbar High School in Temple, Texas. His cleats didn’t fit. Practices were brutal. Players took salt pills instead of water. And when they played at white high school stadiums, they often couldn’t even use the locker rooms. Segregated Texas football. Years later, when asked if he was bitter about it, Joe Greene said: “I thought it couldn’t get any better than that.” The PVIL didn’t hold him back. @txhsfbchat We don’t chase plays—we stress rules. Start with our core concepts, then identify how the defense fits them. If they overplay leverage → we tag it. If they spin coverage → we shift/motion it. If they can’t handle tempo → we feature it. Same system. Different stress.
