@RetroMod98 No. I don't see why anyone would want PSBBN on the PSX. Even if it were possible, you'd lose the XMB and everything that makes the PSX unique. If you want PSBBN, get a PS2. In the future, I'd love to get a version of my game, music, and movie installers working on the PSX.

The Sony PS2 Emotion Engine has a serial (UART) interface. This interface was used by the PS2 homebrew community in early 2000’s. It was used to load .elf files at the poky speed of 115200 baud. Very slow going compared to LAN, but it worked. 😎🤘#Sony #PS2 #PlayStation2 #gamedev

@meower33 No. Unfortunately it's a feature Sony never implemented. It's not something I can add as parts of PSBBN still remain closed source.

@wakhidnh All you need to do is right click on the download link and select "Save Link As..." from the menu. There's a download link for FireFox on the homepage.

@CosmicScale I can't download file with Dillo browser, or I don't know how to download file with Dillo browser. Any suggestion for that?

@wakhidnh You can easily install it yourself. I've set the Dillo's home page to a mirror of the old official PS2 Linux website, you can download it from there and install it directly on your PS2. There's tons of software on there you can install.

@CosmicScale Can you modify your Linux for PS2 which already has Mozilla Firefox pre-installed, Dillo Browser does not have enough complete features, at least to access a standard http page on this era.

@darkartistj If you have Linux, it's even more simple! Just follow the instructions in the readme.

@darkartistj If you're a Windows user, this video should help you get up and running. There's also a good troubleshooting section in the readme and I'm happy to answer any questions. You can do it! youtu.be/O5ZvJoW4oNw?si…

🔊Turn the sound ON for this video... it was cut short so it wouldn't be too long and boring to watch. Next feature: easily adjustable sound settings in the upcoming version of BlueRetro for Methylene Still got a few more features up my sleeve... stay tuned!

@GewoonKev Although not officially supported (yet), it's possible to update and install games over your home network. Enable NBD server in OPL and connect to it through a NBD client on your PC, then just run the script as normal. Just be aware, it will be slow.

@dkcas11 @aldostools That would be great. You can find the translation pack and a readme on GitHub. Just drop a comment there and introduce yourself. If you have any technical questions, you can ask there too. github.com/CosmicScale/PS…

@CosmicScale @aldostools I wanna get back into PS2 homebrew and modding and still have PSBBN on my todo to check out. If you’d like I can add Danish translations while I’m at it? I’ve done a fair bit of localisation in the past. Where can I look to read more about that?

@daibido1123 No need for rebooting or suspension. PSBBN is just an executable that runs on Linux. Just kill your PSBBN process and start X11. Unfortunately there's no easy way to do that unless you go through the network setup.

@CosmicScale It sounds like, with some work, a full suspension function could be implemented. That way, both systems could run directly by basically soft rebooting into each other. Perhaps a shared bootloader with a page function? I need to look into this.

Fun fact: The "Internet Channel" icon was made by Sony but unused. Other unused icons like "Utility Channel" and "Other PC" hint they might’ve planned a full Linux desktop inside PSBBN. #PSBBN #PS2 #PlayStation #retrogaming

@daibido1123 If you go through network setup & select "Configure Router" it does just that. Launches X11 & the NetFront web browser. It can be hacked to launch a full Linux desktop. Two drawbacks: - Performance is worse than running Linux directly - must be launched from the network settings
