@hxhassan The most stable Arab countries are the ones on The Gulf. Otherwise, why would millions of expats from Arab countries and non Arab countries live and work there with us?. Also, that Orientalist gaze towards the Gulf Arab people is common, fueled by prejudice and jealousy.

That's a widespread belief among academics & journalists about the Arab states of the Gulf. These countries always look fragile & fake from afar, but they're far more stable than they seem. This is why analysis tilts toward doomsday scenarios when it comes to the Gulf.

@_AhmedQuraishi It's kind of hard to see relations go back to pre the war levels, especially given even with the ceasefire, countries in Arabia were attacked by Iran regardless. Iran shattered everything with the other side of the Gulf.

Interesting: Iran's ambassador in Riyadh reveals a phone call between #Iran FM Araghchi and #Saudi FM Farhan. A Saudi readout is awaited. Saudi state media has not run a story on the call that various outlets report was initiated by the Iranian side. Riyadh is angry with the regime in Tehran. Ignoring a call would be undiplomatic, but the call was received but awaits official mention. One of the things the Iranians could be interested in is to get Saudi help with Trump, hoping Riyadh could help convince the White House to grant Tehran enough face-saving to make Islamabad Talks possible.
