The criticism of Virgil Van Dijk in relation to the Chemsdine Talbi goal is way over the top.
Look at how he quickly he spots Enzo Le Fee making the penetrative run. He cuts out the more dangerous passing lane through to Le Fee before stepping up to Talbi. Should Van Dijk have stepped up with more intent? Yes. But he was in a difficult position that he had to manage and he manages it well.

!Do not take your eyes off the ball! Your feet can only shape your body to what the eyes see. Angles is one of a player’s 5 a day. Maatsen had more momentum in the duel to push and win the ricochet because De Cuyper arrived late, planted ahead of the ball -> lost his momentum
