Covenant Seminary has been awarded a $9,991,491 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help launch 𝘙𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, a major new partnership focused on recruiting, equipping, and sustaining the next generation of pastors. The Seminary will work closely in this new initiative with sister #PCAGA agencies and committees—@PCACDM, @CovenantCollege, @geneva_benefits, @pcamna, and @RUFnational—as well as @GenevaCollege, to strengthen the ecosystem of pastoral formation in the PCA and beyond. What a joy it was to have graduating MDiv student Orel Hinojosa preach to us in our final chapel of the semester yesterday! Orel, the winner of the Robert G. Rayburn Homiletics Award, preached a powerful sermon on Genesis 12:1–3 entitled, "God And Your Story." He reminded from the text that God uses all of our stories—even the painful and broken parts—to equip us for the ministries to which he calls us for his glory.

Covenant's Student Council hosted their Spring Picnic last week. 🧺🍉 Our students regularly remember living on campus as being among the sweetest parts of their seminary experience. We cherish the opportunity to curate a living-learning community here on campus.

At our spring Covenant Conversations event, Dr. @dandoriani spoke on why "Work Matters"—both to God and to our neighbors. Covenant Conversations are hosted in the St. Louis area on a seasonal basis and feature Covenant Seminary faculty and friends speaking to topics related to faithful Christian living in the modern world.

This week in chapel, Dr. Robert Kim preached his final sermon as a Covenant Seminary faculty member. The sermon was from the Aaronic Blessing in Numbers 6:22–27 and was entitled, "The Lord Bless You." We're thankful for Dr. Kim's service to Covenant Seminary and ask that you join us in praying for him in his next chapter of ministry at Perimeter Church (PCA).

Covenant Seminary was privleged to host the stated meeting of Missouri Presbytery last week. Teaching and ruling elders from PCA churches in the region gathered on our campus to do the business of the church. Faculty, staff, and students joined the presbyters for worship, where our own Dr. Thurman Williams preached on 2 Corinthians 12:7–8. #PCAGA

We say that our faculty don’t teach ministry—they live it. By that, we mean years of ordinary, faithful service in the church. Alongside teaching and research, our professors serve in local congregations, presbyteries, denominational committees, and more. Dr. Dan Doriani has served a term as the chair of the #PCAGA Theological Examining Committee (1999–2000). More recently, he was Interim Pastor at @briarwoodpca, the fourth-largest church in the PCA. We’re grateful for faculty whose scholarship is shaped, tested, and refined in the work of Christ’s church.
