We firmly believe that theological education and ministry preparation are best delivered residentially. However, we also recognize that many students are serve in ministry settings that could make relocating especially difficult. That's why Covenant Seminary's online and hybrid degree formats have been designed with our vision for whole-person formation in mind. Learn more: covenantseminary.edu/online-educati…

Holiness as the Mission and Apologetic Method of the Church Like everything in the Christian life, the task of apologetics works best when it flows from a faith that rests in the hope of Christ and a life that honors him in word and deed. Reflecting on 1 Peter, @DZRishmawy argues that central to Christian apologetics in a pagan age there must be a holy people who testify to Christ with holy works and holy words. CORE VALUES: Church Leadership We believe that, as the seminary of the #PCAGA, it is our responsibility to provide intellectual training and ministry models that are true to the Westminster Standards and the historic distinctives of Presbyterian orthodoxy, while equipping the next generation of Christian servants for effective church leadership in a changing world. At the same time, because we recognize that a seminary alone can never fully equip students for these tasks, we seek to work in partnership with local churches to accomplish our purpose. covenantseminary.edu

"If Christ’s death for our sins is where the gospel begins, getting it right matters deeply indeed." In this review of Andrew Remington Rillera's 𝘓𝘢𝘮𝘣 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦 at @TGC, Dr. Jay Sklar, Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Seminary and a leading scholar of Leviticus and the Pentateuch, argues that penal substitutionary atonement is central to the Bible’s description of Old Testament sacrifice and of Jesus’s death on our behalf. We welcomed Rev. Josiah Green, Lead Pastor of Crossroads Presbyterian Fellowship (PCA) here in St. Louis, to preach God's Word to us in chapel yesterday. His sermon, "The God Who Dwells With Us," was on Exodus 25:1–9 and 29:43–46 and reminded us that God's desire is to dwell with his people, and that he has done so in Jesus.

We were blessed to have friends from Perimeter Church (PCA) visiting with us on campus this week. Yesterday in chapel, we heard from Senior Pastor Rev. Jeff Norris on "Carved Images" from Exodus 20:4–6. Covenant alumna and Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter @LauraStoryMusic (MATS '12) helped to lead us in song.

We were grateful to host Dr. Kelly Kapic of @CovenantCollege last week for the 2026 David C. Jones Theology Lectures. Named in honor of Covenant Seminary's late longtime professor of systematic theology and ethics, these lectures honor Dr. Jones’s legacy and highlight the Seminary’s Reformed heritage by focusing each year on a particular area of theological study. Dr. Kapic lectured on "Christ as the Center of Christian Life" and "The Ecclesia and the Arc of Christian Life," exploring how Jesus is not merely the object of our worship but also the chief worshiper, and how corporate worship both reflects and shapes Christian life.
