@WVPitt Again, I get it and I actually don't find anything wrong with the practice in and of itself. (First thing I thought of was when Jean Carnahan was appointed to the seat that her husband posthumously won in the early 00s.) I'm talking about the inconsistency in folks' thinking.

@RaeWhitlock That's the reason for her appointment. She's not expected to do anything.

This is an ACTUAL example of what DEI opponents try to tell you is happening with DEI.

@WVPitt I understand caretaker appointments, etc. I'm just pointing to the fact that the sole qualification in this case is that she's Sen. Graham's sister.

@RaeWhitlock She's only serving until January 2027, and Graham's sister is not involved in politics at all. This is actually a wise action by the Governor to take the heat off this being a political grumble bumble. A caretaker nomination allows the GOP primary to be handled well.

"Who's going to replace Graham" now has a couple of meanings.
