The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠

@EricTopol @OurWorldInData I would wait too see if the number of cases stays down in Portugal and countries in a similar situation for the time being. By analyzing Iceland, for example, which also didn't have such a big Alpha wave we don't see the same uptake in cases as in Singapore

Why do 2 countries, Singapore and Portugal, both with >80% of their total population fully vaccinated, have such different current new case patterns? Portugal had a profound Alpha wave, one of the worst hit in the world. Natural immunity may be playing a role @OurWorldInData

Very! crudely eyeballing graphs of Israel (a) vaccination hasn't done much for transmission, cases still exponential (smaller exponent) (b) deaths/cases have halved (1 wk lag in graph). 60% double dosed. Delta cases 2x in ~2 weeks. Now 3rd booster. Can't vaccinate out of this.
