Text messages revealed they were knowingly involved in a lucrative smuggling plot. Whalley, a suspended nurse, absurdly claimed the packages contained watches. Both pleaded guilty and walked free with suspended sentences—despite planning the trip for profit and putting the public at risk. Their “lesson learned”?
