Little by little the things we passionately care about and spend seemingly all of our waking hours trying to build and push forward become less foreign outside of our echo chamber. The technology layer, while critical and important, becomes more and more abstracted and traditional organizations begin to recognize our craft as human creativity and ingenuity beyond the hype. I’m here for this, and so are many of you out there that show up every day. And with that I’m incredibly proud to share that my wife Mara and I are being honored at this year’s @CraftHouston annual luncheon. It’s a really big deal for us on many levels. We have a super low profile in Houston and while we’ve been working on impactful stuff recognized globally and within the web3 ecosystem this is a first for us in the local arts community. I believe creative coding, like any other artistic medium, is a skill and a craft that requires tremendous time and dedication to refine. The Craft Center, while historically recognizing traditional craft like pottery and weaving, is recognizing our work in the digital art space, specifically the generative medium, as a true craft. Not only do organizations like the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft help elevate craft and art to the local community and beyond, and inspire our children (who attend regularly) to participate in the arts, they, like any other arts institution, help chronicle the history of art and craft as it evolves. I’m honored and excited to see HCCC, among other traditional arts organizations, demonstrating curiosity for what we do. If you’re in houston on May 1, it would be a tremendous honor for you to attend the luncheon. If not, and you want to support an institution that’s embracing our weird little corner of the internet, Mara and I would be eternally grateful if you’d support the craft center financially, whether via their website (link in article below) or via @endaomentdotorg. If you support tomorrow (April 14th) I think there’s still time to recognize your donation in the program. You can also support the center by picking up some of the incredible physical works in the auction, five of which Mara and I got to curate from artists we love @CodyBarber, @jeffgdavis, @lovidlovid, @mpkoz and @carlospozo! Check it out here: crafthouston.org/2025-silent-au… Huge shoutout to the Craft Center for the honor and meticulously organizing this event! And to our wonderful event chairs Laura Babka, Alecia Harris, and @mpoleo! To @jeffgdavis, @katehannah, @meltedzgnr and the @artblocks_io team for putting this article together. Thanks to the many that have already contributed to the event including some friends on the host committee and even some buying tables!!! And an extra special thank you to Mara for her endless support and inspiration ❤️. Proud to be here with ya. artblocks.io/articles/bridg…
