@tubridywhiskey @Ballykilcavan I’ve heard that the reds and Pine Martens evolved together and the marten was a natural predator to the red, so the red is more cautious around them. Whereas the grey has been imported and doesn’t know to be aware of the martens. Therefore the grey are disproportionately killed.

@Ballykilcavan David, few questions though. What variables contributed to the martens decline before their return and are martens predatory towards grey squirrels but not red ones?
