Students at @RutgersU are catching major heat after daring to criticize Professor Brittney Cooper, a tenured faculty member in Women’s, Gender, and Africana Studies, who once declared that “White people are committed to being villains” and bluntly stated, “We gotta take these motherfuckers out.”
The university, which is currently requesting up to $530 million in federal taxpayer funding this year, responded by declaring its “unequivocal solidarity” with Dr. Cooper. They framed her remarks as protected “academic freedom” and stood by her alongside faculty unions, dismissing widespread outrage as a “racist smear campaign” and harassment.
