@PolitlcsUK Given that people are living much longer, this is one of the few things that the government is doing that’s probably sensible. We probably need to get the pension Age to 70 in the next 15 to 20 years if I need to be able to have a chance of funding it.

How would you grade Bobby Charlton a #MUFC player? A+ Our best ever in his position A - World-class B - Excellent C - Good D - Decent E - Erratic F - Flop Yesterday's result: Juan Mata (C+). A hugely divisive vote... but most agreed we never got the best out of him. Fair? 🤔 Retweets appreciated 👍

@jonmikesav8 I find it astonishing hes been labeled injury prone when hes only missed 10 games so far in his career through injury. If the medical has found something then fine but why has utd publicly said it hasn't collapsed?? Something is up definitely, its not right

IF the Ederson deal is off then UTD have played this by the book. They only had Atalanta’s word that there was no issue with his fitness. A deal was in place and then comes UTDs chance to fully test him themselves. IF he has failed then so be it. Why the hell are people moaning?

It sounds like Manchester United started their pivot on Ederson after the first medical which identified the full extent of knee issue, not to mention missing out on Mateus Fernandes because of the crazy fee & wages. The club are about to end up with a midfield trio nobody was predicting at the start of the summer. This is not the same regime that stays fixated on singular targets. They did due diligence on multiple midfielders. Andy Mitten has said across the past few months there are names we know & names we don't. Santos is the latter. Excited to see how this develops from here.

@BelovethJohn To be precise, it was the first medical check that cooled the club's interest and made them realize it was better not to go any further

@MickRuby_MURTV Yet utd officially deny this 🤔 dunno whats going on. Hes missed 10 games throughout his entire career to date through injury so hes hardly injury prone. Seems to be something going on though

🚨 BREAKING: Éderson to #MUFC is OFF, with the deal now considered collapsed after Manchester United informed Atalanta of their decision. According to Fabrizio Romano, United’s second medical assessment reportedly discovered inconsistencies compared with the medical conducted in the USA. The concern is believed to relate to Éderson’s knee, although Atalanta disagree with United’s findings and are happy to welcome the player back. We are still waiting to understand the full details of the medical report. Personally, I am not completely convinced this is only about the medical. It could also represent a change in transfer direction from Manchester United. This is the same club that signed the injury-prone Mason Mount, who has spent much of the last two seasons on the rehabilitation bench. Something does not completely add up. 🤔 #ManchesterUnited #ManUnited #MUFC #Ederson #Transfers

@dipsMUFC If there was a way to modernise and expand old trafford im all for it but the simple fact is the railway stops expansion so any further work will cost upwards if 1.6bn and it still wouldnt match wembley in terms of capacity or infrastructure. Thats the sad economic truth 😔

A new stadium now feels inevitable, but the priority has to be match‑going fans the emotion, heritage and culture that can’t be rebuilt. Football isn’t just infrastructure. The club need to show how the soul of Old Trafford survives the move if they want supporters to trust this.

@dipsMUFC I've said it elsewhere on here scepticism and the feelings of losing identity are nothing new what do you think our predecessors thought moving to old trafford in 1910? That didnt go to badly in the end did it?

I’m the biggest sceptic, and I know that. The club have assured us that supporters will be at the heart of this, and I trust that they’ll learn from what’s happened elsewhere. As a fanbase, we’ll make our voice heard - that’s how we make sure this is done the right way. #MUFC

@MUFCVOLT @markgoldbridge There was no fix dont you get it? The railway stopped that from being done, a revamp with extra seating would've cost north of 1.6bn!!! And it still wouldn't be bigger than Wembley totally cost ineffective. 2bn through venture capital not like arsenal through club debt ffs

I know it's the minority view but got absolutely no interest in a new stadium build over a proper first team build. 20 years ago we had one of the best stadiums in Europe and these same owners let it rot. Now we have to find 2 billion to build a new one

David Ornstein on #mufc transfer policy this summer: “Manchester United are placing great importance on trying to be prudent and disciplined in the market, setting valuations of players and not exceeding them, and if the price goes too high, they are walking away — and only sign players that are desperate to sign for them. We saw that ultimately didn’t work with Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, but there will be options out there, no doubt, that they will get the right value — so I’m really fascinated to see how it evolves in the coming days and weeks.” [@TheAthleticFC pod via @UtdForever7]

Manchester United Forever
Manchester United Forever@UtdForever7·
🚨🎙️ Paul Gascoigne on Mateus Fernandes deal: ‘‘I joined Tottenham over Man United for the money like Mateus Fernandes – I still regret it. "Sir Alex Ferguson called us and said, 'I want to sign you' and I went, 'OK, I'll sign' so I went on holiday and he said, 'When you come back from holiday will you be at Old Trafford' and I said, 'Yeah', so I told my dad, 'I'm going to Old Trafford' and he said, 'Brilliant' then two days later the phone went and it was Irving Scholar (former Tottenham chairman)." "I said, 'Dad, it's Tottenham', and he said, 'Tell them to f**** off, you're singing for Man United', so I said, 'F**** off, I'm signing for Man United', so Irving says, 'Tell your dad I'll give him £120,000', so I said, 'Dad they're going to give you £120,000 if I sign for Tottenham' and he went, 'What are you waiting for then son?'" In a shocking twist, Gascoigne then explained how it wasn't just financial incentive that sweetened the deal but the promise of gifts for his family - including a sunbed. He said: "I went, 'Oh yeah, I think I'm about to sign for Tottenham'. He (his dad) hadn't moved off the chair and he said, 'I want a BMW soft top with a private reg', so I rang Irving back and said, 'Can me dad have that?' and he said, 'Oh yeah, consider it done'. "So I passed Old Trafford on the way (to Spurs), and I was worried but then as I got close I rang my sister and she said, 'Paul, if my mum is getting a house and dad's getting a car, then I want a sunbed', so the deal was done on the sunbed." He said in 2015: "Sometimes I do look back and think what would have been if… would I have won all those trophies. When I signed for Spurs, Man United became great, and they started winning everything. I look at that, and it's probably one of the regrets I have." #MUFC [via @MENnewsdesk]
