Ozzy Osbourne Album Ranking from Worst to Best #3: No Rest For The Wicked (1988) During the early years of my Ozzy fandom, I used to not GIVE A FUCK about this album😂 Being young and stupid, I would scan the track list on this and say “I don’t see any hits on this, so it must suck” and I would move on😂 Obviously, that’s not the case anymore. This is the Ozzy album that has grown on me THE MOST. And y’all know I’m a sucker for “deep track albums”😂 The closest thing to a hit on this is maybe ‘Crazy Babies’? To me, this is the first album of the ranking that’s ALL KILLER NO FILLER! Every song hit SO FUCKING HARD! And this is Zakk Wylde’s BEST guitar performance HANDS DOWN…of ANY album he’s been on! Every second of his playing on this is perfect! Whenever I feel the need to pick an Ozzy album to just CRANK TO TEN and let play, I’m going to this one! ‘Miracle Man’ is such a PERFECT opener to introduce Zakk Wylde! That fast, chugging riff is the BEST way to find out what his playing is ALL ABOUT! ‘Devils Daughter (Holy War)’ is a fuckin’ RIPPER and so damn catchy! The main riff on ‘Crazy Babies’ clears EVERY riff on No More Tears…FIGHT ME!😂 GAWD that song is so heavy! ‘Breakin All The Rules’ is such classic Ozzy that you can’t hate on it! It may perhaps be the “simplest” song on the album. But it’s still SO DAMN GOOD! ‘Bloodbath in Paradise’ is my favorite on the album! Ozzy going into the macabre and the sinister undertones of the music harkens back to his earlier albums! I think ‘Fire In The Sky’ should’ve been a single! That song was MADE for arenas and it really sounds like a precursor to what would be heard on No More Tears! ‘Tattooed Dancer’ is probably the FASTEST riff on the whole album! So killer! The album closes with two REALLY good songs in ‘Demon Alcohol’ and ‘Hero’! The latter being a pretty underrated Ozzy ballad in my opinion! Why is this album not ranked higher? Simple…because it’s not the next two😂 Believe me, I WISH I could rank it higher as it’s the album I ALMOST listen to the most! It’s really a small shame because Zakk Wylde NEVER topped this album. He’s come close, but this is his magnum opus! One of my favorite guitar performances OF ALL TIME…BY ANYONE! And Ozzy himself does alright on this too…😂
