You can’t gift wrap this all together and call it the same Bok team. The 2019 team got a gift draw and took advantage. The identity was defence first. This descended into box kicking madness in 2021. From 2020-23 they won no Rugby Championships and went around 30% against top five teams. They were very average. Below average even. 2023 RWC they again lucked out with dicey wins and a red card final. Just pure chancer stuff. 2024 they finally put a full season together against all tier one opponents. 2025 the team has built on 2024. This is a completely new identity, indistinguishable from 2019 & 2023 with next generation players. This is not the same team, not the same era, in multiple ways.

So the Boks just manage to scrape a win to finish with 19 competition points in the TRC, the same as New Zealand. Congrats.
