Hooray! We are back at that time again where it is believed that Man United are some mysterious sleeping soul that is waiting being awoken by the kiss of a worthy Prince. Not just a huge lumbering corporate entity grinding out the pound notes then.

Having murdered EVERY journalist in Gaza, and many of their families. Having banned ANY international journalist from entering. Having destroyed almost every structure in Gaza and even laughing as they blew up water treatment facilities and cancer wards. Israel is now BANNING all aid agencies from operating there from tomorrow. The last thread of charitable aid removed. An evil beyond humanity. Take ACTION Free PALESTINE

‘Putting the bowlers under pressure’ is such nonsense. They all play T20 cricket, they don’t give a fuck if you hit them for four. Putting them under pressure is making them bowl for hours without getting a wicket. That’s more pressure than getting sliced through third man

This was the world salad that Ollie Pope served up two days out from the Gabba Test when asked about England's approach. Any surprise that he played without the "complete clarity" mentioned?

Serious thought. The word "Bazball" has become a distraction. A smokescreen for what we're really watching. Average bowling, reckless batting, terrible catching. It doesn't need a funky label; call it what it is, rank bad cricket.

Fuck FIFA. A man who armed the worst crimes of our lifetime accepts "a peace award" surrounded by soldiers. FIFA are perhaps the most corrupt and immoral organisation on earth.

Every time I look at the Champions League table, I'm reminded we now have a European Super League that has been introduced by stealth and which is eating away at the fabric of English football in exactly the way the Super League would have done.

I hate FIFA

FIFA undermines the credibility of its disciplinary process and the authority of its referees with its special treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s undeniably one of the greats of the game, a fabulous footballer (if in inevitable decline at 40), hugely important for Fifa in marketing and spreading the game through his 1bn social media followers, and a Messi-Ronaldo last dance at the World Cup is a dream for Fifa and TV. But justice should be blind to status and commercial value.  Fifa could have gained some respect by punishing Ronaldo properly as they do other players. And Portugal would surely survive the group stage without Ronaldo for two games, which should have been his punishment for violent conduct. Ronaldo elbowed Dara O’Shea in the back, was initially given a yellow card which was rightly upgraded to a red by VAR for violent conduct which usually brings a three-match ban. So Fifa has effectively undermined VAR. Ronaldo has already served one game, with Fifa now suspending the other two for a year. How convenient. USA, land of the freed. Fifa did get Messi into the Club World Cup... And will any player sent off in the March play-offs expect similar clemency from Fifa? It was Ronaldo’s first dismissal in 226 internationals, an impressive disciplinary record, that bought him sympathy from Gianni Infantino’s organisation. Fifa says in its statement that “if Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension set out in the disciplinary decision shall be deemed automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately”. The key word here is “gravity”. Fifa admits the seriousness of Ronaldo’s offence and yet punishes him lightly. A good day for marketing. A bad day for discipline.

It's fitting that Stoke play Coventry on the anniversary of Mark Robins sacking. The most important figure in Coventry's recent history, Robins took them from League Two to the edge of the Premier League in five years. Despite having to play home games in Birmingham and Northampton and ownership uncertainty. A toenail away from an FA Cup final. Quite rightly a Sky Blues legend 🩵

He is not a random madman. He is the Minister of National Security of a UN member-state. And yet the West continues to insist that said state is democratic and an ally. Which, of course, reflects the West's collapsing basic ethical standards.
