@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess I equated freedom with the right to land. After all the conversation started with comments like ' from the river to the sea' causing the banning of marches. By all means let them be free. Where would they go?

To make the jump from a mentally ill man attacking 3 people, two Jews and a Muslim, to saying peaceful Pro-Palestinian marches must be banned as a consequence, is totally irrational, bizarre and downright Orwellian. This lunacy from our politicians must be challenged.

@Cranlor @snowleopardess And you believe those people (or their distant descendants who settled more permanently in that region over the past 2 millennia) have no right to be free. Got it.

@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess Correct, but the Palestine you refer to was not a nation & in no way stretched from a river to the sea. It was an area in the Roman province of Judea/Palestine, where the roman named Palaistinis people lived. These people were generally nomadic & had no fixed lands until this.

I thought @ZackPolanski was excellent on the media rounds he did today. People want to see a politician who is going to defend his values and isn't going to budge under pressure. More of this please!

🚨 REFORM IN FREEFALL 🚨 Reports now suggest another Reform UK candidate in Scotland has quit just days before the election. At this rate, Reform won’t have candidates left — you’ll be turning up to vote for… nobody. Chaos, instability, no serious structure. Don’t waste your vote. A vote for Reform is a wasted vote. ⚠️🇬🇧 thescottishsun.co.uk/news/16222455/…

Jeremy David Parker is a Green Party candidate hoping to represent Newton & Valley ward on Sandwell Council on 7 May. Parker's X timeline is a study in modern antisemitic tropes. Here are some of the clearest, by category. 🧵 1/14

@P_Kallioniemi @Yam_Nivek Rubbish again. Spirit's weaknesses were already there – it had already gone through two bankruptcy filings in the two years prior; global instability simply accelerated the inevitable.

Spirit Airlines has shut down operations, cancelling all flights and leaving 17,000 employees without jobs. The collapse was driven by a sharp spike in jet fuel prices, fuel nearly doubling due to the Iran war. I wonder if they have said "thank you" to Trump yet?

@AlexBallingerMP I've heard of my Reform candidate, I even shook his hand when he came canvassing. I also know the name of my labour candidate, the one I chased from my drive.

Have you heard from your local Reform candidate? Do you even know who they are? It’s something I’m hearing a lot. Little to no contact, and very little information about who’s standing or what they’re offering. Residents deserve candidates who are present and engaging.

@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess Europeans created maps of “Palestine” in the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries based on ancient biblical notions of this region and anachronistically placed them in modern atlases of the era, even though no such entity existed.

@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess There is the Kernowyon a Celtic ethnic group who are one of the recognized national minorities here . They trace their roots to ancient Brittonic Celtic tribes like the Dumnonii, & Cornovi yet they do not have a homeland, rather a county Cornwall. Your clutching at straws

@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess The assertion of a right to the land 'from the river to the sea' ignores the deep historical ancestral ties that the Jewish people have maintained to the region for thousands of years. By dismissing these historical realities, such rhetoric moves beyond political protest.

@PeterTatchell Human rights is inextricably linked to a framework of ethical responsibility. While the right to free expression is a cornerstone of a free society, it does not grant a moral or legal license to incite violence or promote the destruction of a specific group, as in the marches.

@drgerke1 Anti-semetic. Where is there prejudice or hatred depicted in this picture? Don't tell me it depicts Paulden who is a jew. He's as jewish as a pig in a synagogue. & only declares himself as such when it suits his political agenda. I have bacon that acts more jewish.

@John_Salisbury @snowleopardess Modern Palestinian national identity emerged in the 20th century amid British Mandate (1920-48), Jewish immigration, & opposition to partition. In 1948, after Israel’s creation & Arab defeat, Jordan & Egypt controlled the West Bank & Gaza; no Palestinian state was declared.
