The O2 generators are initiated by an exothermic reaction of Sodium Chlorate (NaClO3) mixed with Barium Peroxide (BaO2) and Potassium Perchlorate (KClO4). The result is oxygen and extreme heat. The O2 generators in a box caused a spontaneous combustion of the cardboard and the high heat initiated the exothermic reaction of the other generators.
