Disappointed to see the shift at Dribbble, but it also feels like the direction it’s been moving towards for some time. I remain grateful for what it was because truthfully, I made my early career because of Dribbble. It’s what allowed me to get distribution, land clients, and (most importantly) to connect with others. It was such an important place to find community, share feedback on our journeys, and ultimately make some lifelong friends; both online and in local community. I hope that young designers find a similar space soon.

My feelings exactly. I’ll be forever grateful for how much those early Dribbble years created serious trajectory for @FocusLabLLC. While also being disappointed by how badly it’s lost its way for years now. It goes to show just how beloved the brand was. We’re still all taking about it, holding onto a belief that there’s hope in there somewhere. It sure was something special. Or maybe I’m just being that token dad who loves reliving his high school football years.

Exciting news! My husband and I created a D&D app! 🎲 We've spent years working on it off and on, building the kind of app we always wanted to use. Seeing it come to life—and watching our friends enjoy it—has been so fun! 🧙‍♂️✨

Amazing Story Of Penguin who meets his Saviour every year after travelling 5000 miles.. In 2011, a Brazilian fisherman found a tiny penguin covered in oil on the rocks on his local beach. The man nursed it back to health for 11 months and then the released it back into the wild. A few months later, the penguin returned. The penguin swims 5,000 miles every year to spend time with the fisherman. He spends the rest of his time mating in Argentina.

This time last year, @robdvr and I set up what would become @teamheyo in a whirlwind 72 hours. Didn't have a name, just a placeholder business entity registered to hit the ground running and get bank accounts set up so we could get the team hired. It was probably one of the craziest 72 hours of my life. Totally worth it. I can't believe how quick this year has flown by. I am so incredibly grateful to continue to get to do life and work alongside these amazing individuals. The grit and determination of this team to stick together after we all lost our jobs last year is unlike anything I've ever seen or heard of before. Thanks to all the clients that trusted us to continue working together. It shows how much of a relationship was built over the last 5 years. I can't thank so many of you enough for the kind words and encouragement you sent to both the team and myself assuring us that you couldn't even imagine working with anyone else and you trusted us to figure it out quickly as we got Heyo established to continue your projects. You helped provide that support for us to re-hire the team and get right back to work. Not many companies get to start off day 1 with nearly a year of work secured. To our team, thank you and your families for trusting us through a whirlwind transition to care for them, and provide a stable workplace so we can all put food on the table for our families. Thank you for being the amazing individuals that you are. We live, laugh, learn and grow together doing life with each other. I'm so proud of the teammates I get to be surrounded with and even more excited that I get to call y'all friends and not just coworkers. This has been such a rewarding experience. It's hard to put into words, but when everyone on the team is rowing in the same direction, it's amazing how smooth of a journey and how much you can accomplish. This warrants it's own post, but to try and quickly summarize, from an operational and team standpoint, things have been so smooth that it's allowed our leadership team to really focus on the core of the business rather than be in the business. That's not something I had the opportunity to do the last few years. When you get to stop wearing all the hats and instead get to focus on improvements to process, spending time with your team to lift them up and help them succeed in the ways they desire, find new ways for the team to offer more value to clients, and the list just keeps going on. So what's next for Heyo? - We're currently growing and expanding the team. Been getting lots of requests for more insights and we're happy to share. No gatekeeping here.
