After not being selected as a speaker for Unreal Fest this year, it got me thinking. For the first time in four years, I’ve had to seriously consider the financial side of attending. The last three years, I made it work without hesitation. This year, it depended more on whether I was selected as a speaker, and that reflection led me somewhere bigger than my own situation. There are so many talented UEFN creators who have not yet found financial stability or freedom in this space and Unreal Fest matters. Yes, the talks are available online. Yes, you can network digitally. But there’s something different about being in the room, shaking someone’s hand, sharing a moment, and building real connections. That’s hard to replicate. It would be incredible to see something like a Creator Grant Program for Unreal Fest, where a select number of creators each year receive support similar to speaker benefits, such as ticket and hotel, while covering their own travel. This wouldn’t be about big creators or established names. It would be about creators who: • Have never attended • Demonstrate meaningful work in UEFN • Want to grow and contribute to the ecosystem There could be structure around it, like an application process, proof of travel confirmation, and session commitments, ensuring the opportunity goes to people who will truly use it. This is about advocating for creators who might otherwise never get the chance to experience Unreal Fest in person. Because access creates momentum. Momentum creates opportunity. Opportunity strengthens the ecosystem. I truly believe giving more creators the chance to be in the room would benefit the entire community. I would love to see something like this happen for the community @FNCreate @TimSweeneyEpic — For clarity, I’ve replaced the thumbnail in the photo since I’m no longer affiliated with the original project or team.
