@Loriagne2 I do remember the 62/63 winter when the roads were completely blocked so the school bus didn't run. That was the only time I remember not getting to school in the winter.

I am 70.......NEVER can I remember schools closing in the winter. I used to walk to school through feet of snow. It was never such a big deal. We just got on with it!

Civil servants want to work a 4-day week, claiming it's “critical to attaining a good quality of life” giving time for “1 day of chores, 1 of fun & 1 of rest”. They claim it would save money because of reduced staff turnover and fewer sick days. Do you agree with their demand?

#WordleWonderLeague @twdavisafc @albolt76 @Rach_T_ It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that the Wordle Wonder League will finish at the end of this year. This is an emotional decision for me because it was my baby and I never thought too many people would buy into it. When I first suggested it to Jacko, I was imagining we would have about 20 people but at its height we had about 250 regulars. We still have over 200. Mind you, it wouldn’t have got off the ground without Jacko and I would have probably been in a league of one. I only joined Twitter to build an audience for my books and the WWL was a happy accident which just took off. If my books had done the same I would be challenging the bestseller list. We started on 22nd March 2022 and will finish Saturday 21st December 2024 with final tables on Sunday 22nd. Not quite 3 years but a glorious 33 months. Immense thanks to Jacko for his great assistance in setting the WWL up and keeping it going. Thanks to Terry for stepping in to help it keep going following Jacko’s well earned retirement. The hashtag will be there so you can all still compete – there will just not be any league or tables. Unless someone else wants to take it over. Here is an idea which just popped into my head. Two people could take it on for a year then pass the baton on. I have my patented spreadsheet with all the formula’s in it that I can pass on. However, be warned it does take quite a number of hours each week – be it the front of house Jacko / Terry role or the back office admin. Anyway, that’s the gist of it. We have November to finish and then December to battle out. Enjoy and thanks everyone who has played and those still playing.
