🚨 Shooting Incident – N1 near N14 Reports confirm a shooting incident on the N1 close to the N14 interchange, where one person has been fatally shot. e-hailing related robbery and kidnapping: Pretoria: Incident report as received: “On Saturday 25 October and Sunday 26 October 2025 between the hours of 23:00 and 1 am, a young man ordered an Uber Black which picked him up outside Lucky Rodrigo Bar on the corner of The Hillside Street and Alpine Way in Lynnwood, Pretoria. “The driver asked him to sit in front which he did. When they drove off a man appeared either from the floor at the back of the vehicle or the boot. The young man had a knife held to his throat and the assailant threatened to kill him. He was abducted, kidnapped for several hours. His watch and iPhone was stolen. The assailant asked the young man to open his phone and his banking app: Whereupon R30 000 was withdrawn from his credit card. In addition before midnight the criminals applied for a loan of R300 000 under a business name xxxx and transferred money into a business account. “They went to an ATM later and sent money to Musina. The young man was dropped off in Sunnyside in the early hours of Sunday morning. “The case has been reported to the police with charges of theft, aggravated robbery, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, kidnapping and fraud opened. “It was a legitimate Uber Black driver and vehicle. Uber contacted the young man the next day by email and stated that ‘we notice that you were dropped off/taken to a place other than your chosen/designated/specified address or location.’”

🚓 Update – Pretoria West Chase Three additional suspects who fled during the earlier high-speed chase have now been arrested following coordinated follow-up operations. This brings the total number of arrests to four, with a firearm recovered linked to the business robbery.
