Ball winning fake Ball carrying fake He is more energetic yes and what do I need Usain Bolt speed for in the midfield? It’s only to make up for lack of awareness and positioning and Wetin concern me with Brighton young player of the year “last year”? Baleba is not bad but most of you rate him hypothetically than what he actually does. 2 seasons stats for both of them.

Balaba is a better defensive cover. Ball wining, Ball carrying - Baleba is excellent He’s faster and more energetic. He’s literally a workhorse. He was Brighton Young Player of the year last season. This season may have been off….but we can all see he’s got it. Ederson as how ???😂

@soban_shaikh @BroomeyJC You said top tier and listed Baleba as an option btw. Kid has had 1 half good season. If there's anyone that people need to pipe down over it's Fred 2.0, arguably worse. Shaw can't be trusted, Dorgu is more a winger than a FB. And Cunha or Mbeumo are very unreliable at ST.

@BroomeyJC Don't need LW when Dorgu can play. Don't need a ST when Mbuemo Cunha can play Don't need a LB as Shaw/ Dorgu can play If it's only 3 signings, they need to be top tier. Tonali Anderson M. Fernandes or Baleba

Manchester United Fans need to calm down about Ederson.. Ederson is a good player, had many years of being good but this year has been bit up and down (hence the anger but also i think he plays in Serie A and some fans still hurting from the Hojlund signing) Basically a Tonali but cheaper, plays a lot of progressive forward passes, Physical and has an Engine. I don't think he will be the main Midfield signing so people need to calm down a little We cannot afford to buy Two PL Midfielders when we got a lot we need to fix, LB, Winger, Backup ST to name a few... Ederson is a good player and lets just all calm down its not a bad signing..
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen

Talks are progressing between Manchester United and Atalanta for Ederson and progress has been made. No formal offer as of Friday morning but that could change relatively quickly. Ederson and #MUFC have discussed terms over a five-year contract.🇧🇷

Got to hope West Ham goes down so we commit to Fernandes + Baleba because this would be one of the worst possible deals we can make all summer.

#MUFC have had talks with Éderson's representatives via intermediaries in recent weeks. The 26 yo is admired highly by Jason Wilcox with interest ongoing for years. His agent André Cury is pushing for a move. Nothing done but interest real. Seen as an opportunity. A/@MatteMoretto

Fans are questioning why Casemiro's strike against West Ham last night was ruled out for offside, when a very similar goal — scored by Florian Wirtz against Fulham in January— was permitted 👀 Since 2021 in the Premier League, there has been a 5cm tolerance in place, which means that goals that are marginally offside can be given onside through VAR, regardless of the on-field decision. This was the case with Wirtz's goal at the start of the year. After Casemiro's position looked equally close, fans are wondering why the 5cm tolerance wasn't considered. Last night, a statement from the Premier League's VAR Hub summing up why the decision was made was issued, it reads: "VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that Casemiro was in an offside position and recommended that the goal was disallowed."

The best thing Amorim did was force Sancho, Garnacho, and a completely uninterested Rashford out imo. That's probably the only thing that I struggle to see Carrick doing had he taken over whenever Amorim did. So for that I definitely appreciate Amorim. And I do believe set pieces overall improved with his set piece coach. But everyone else I struggle to credit Amorim. The way we are playing with the link up play, the one touch, free flowing play....every hardcore Amorim supporter swore to me that our players are shit and couldn't play or do the exact things they were doing now.

Amorim and Carrick were given two very different responsibilities. Amorim was appointed to rebuild Manchester United from the ground up, to establish a new identity, culture, mentality, and style of play as part of a long-term project. That was never going to be an easy task, especially with the amount of structural and behavioral issues within the squad. Carrick, on the other hand, was brought in as a caretaker, tasked with steadying the ship for six months. If Carrick had been asked to do what Amorim did; clearing out deadwood and confronting poor attitudes from players like Rashford, Garnacho, Højlund, Antony, and others ;he would have faced the same backlash Amorim received. Much of the hostility toward Amorim wasn’t about results alone, but about clashes with fan favourites and his willingness to move certain players on. That, more than anything else, fueled the hate. Carrick is doing a solid job as caretaker, but it’s important to be honest: he would likely have struggled if he were responsible for laying the long-term foundations of the rebuild. What he’s benefiting from now is the groundwork already put in place by Amorim and his coaching staff. You can see it in the improved set-piece structure, Bruno playing with more discipline, and the growing chemistry between the attacking players, the connections between Bruno, Cunha, Mbeumo, and wing-back Amad didn’t appear overnight. Carrick is building on an existing foundation, and to his credit, he’s doing that well so far. ❤️🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

As someone who always argued the OGS's style would only work for so long, mainly due to individual brilliance bailing us out of several games vs low block teams, it worked up until we signed CR7. I loved every second of the nostalgia that it brought, but looking back I really think that's the signing that ended OGS. I don't even think it was necessarily CR7's fault but the team seemed to play with a "CR7 First" mentality by default. Always trying to find him and it became detrimental to the way we played imo.

@Mike87_United Yeah but it can work long term too. People will mention Ole but upstairs was a mess then and recruitment was a mess. Still not perfect but the support around Carrick is better I think and we’re probably playing the best football in the league right now.

Amorim was trying to coach us to play a different style for the long term. Carrick is not doing anything for the long term, he’s doing what he knows these players are comfortable with for the best possible short term results. It takes barely above room temperature IQ to grasp.

I mean, listen, I was a big Pogba fan, I'd argue he was underrated...but he's a massive "what if" due to injuries and whatever the [probably accidental] drug issue was. Pogba had the talent, but he never lived up to his potential imo. But I'm just still trying to process the "possession based football" lmao. We legit had a higher average possession % under ETH's first season and pretty much every season under OGS where we were deemed a "counter attacking" team. This dude is just brown nosing Amorim so hard that he's talking out of his ass.

@ManUnitedMedia Amorim was building a team. He was given a project. He'd done an awful lot; built a possession based team, stopped player power, stopped leaks, stood up to INEOS/GLAZERS. Carrick got a built team. He's given a short term task with specific expectations; RESULTS. WINS. UGLY WINS

I never really rated Wentz as high as some personally, but he had a better arm imo than Hurts. Wentz did more with his arm than Hurts with far few weapons. So yeah, I'd like to think that you slot Wentz in at QB with the current line up. Who was the best receiver Wentz at during his days? I guess probably a washed Jeffrey who could never stay healthy. Give him Brown and Smith.

So let me ask this question if Carson wentz didn’t end up tearing his acl do you believe we would’ve 1 been to more than 2 SB appearances and won more than 1 with this lineup than what we’ve done with hurts. Nothing else changes but the qb position. I know we wouldn’t have the same offense or defense without it per say but let’s just keep that out for the sake of the qb position argument itself.

Gary Neville after Man Utd lost to City in 2025. "Amorim hasn't got the right players that fit this system. A manager has to adapt" Gary Neville in 2026: "Yoro, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw. They weren't suited to a back 4. They're suited actually to play in a back 3" Such hypocrisy. 🤡☹️

It's not been though. philly's oline didn't become "elite", imo, until 2010's, probably lines up to when Kelce came in. Dline similarly had decent pieces but didn't really hit elite status until recent years imo. But ultimately the point that I'm making is that the Eagles have been one of the most complete teams in the NFL over the last several years. It's all opinions, but in mine, Hurts holds back the offense more than he helps it. Genuinely believe Eagles would have won more superbowls in recent years with a better QB. Honestly all lines up really to when Roseman took over as GM, so fair play, best in the league imo.

@CrimsonRiddleR @Eaglehasla39761 @ColesCowboys @unclejut Yeah keep talking about our oline and dline like this hasn’t been the norm in Philly for generations on generations mostly but through draft some (some) acquired by FA however it’s been built through the draft process time and time again so I’m confused why y’all talk about that.

I agree about the O-line. Defense I disagree. They had a couple of years here and there of having a good defense, but I don't think they had a defense to the caliber of what the Eagles have had for a large part of the last several years...since the 90s. Also... I'm not a Cowboys fan so yeah...

@CrimsonRiddleR @Eaglehasla39761 @ColesCowboys @unclejut Cowboys had the consensus best offensive line in football throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s lmao. Eagles only started picking up steam in the mid 2010s. Then you had great running backs, elite receivers, and a solid defense. There's a reason you guys always made the offs.

Not a cowboys fan, but I do agree for what it's worth. I've always personally said that the 1-2 years they had a really good defense were largely exaggerated/overhyped because of the play of 2-3 players. Their defense has never been as good as the Eagles, or like the Broncos or Texans of this year. They were never a complete defense.

@CrimsonRiddleR @Eaglehasla39761 @ColesCowboys @unclejut It literally is but you refuse to go back and look at the stats these guys were producing the same if not at a higher level offensively and they couldn't get it done. One year that had 4,900 yards in 2000 yard receivers and peak Zeke. All in the same season.

Well I said just about any other, which I do genuinely believe. I wouldn't say every starting QB in the league would succeed because some are just genuinely bad, but if I were to ballpark a number I'd say 20-25 other starting QB's would probably succeed there. I genuinely believe with the weapons Philly has with that Oline, QB's would have to try pretty hard and/or genuinely be awful to fail. Hurts is a great runner, but a bang average thrower.
